Could have give us one more season atleast. Only blessing is the amount of money recieved for him need to bring in a world class player to ease the blow.
Im fuming not hurt.
Rubbish.
Our team is far weaker without Xabi in it and he can leave with his head held high. There is no-one we can buy with that money who will walk into the team and be as effective as he was last season. He was a great player for us and a great professional. I loved his work ethic, intelligence and skill. I'm gutted he's gone but I thank him for being a great servant to our club.
i totally agree mate that, whatever people think alonso leaving will defo weaken the team at this moment in time! however i still say IMHO that he did owe the club but biggest of all the 'fans' some sort of loyalty in staying, please hear me out on this- last season i can't remember a LFC player given such a massive reception onto the pitch after transfer speculation than alonso, please believe me on this, his name was sung, banners displayed & genuine love for the guy was un questionable at many games home & away. i was at a few of the games so i know what the situation was.
it's a long time since the 'kop' sang players names etc throughout the side, during the warm up etc but alonso's attitude at the time reflected how much the crowd responded to his so called commitment to the club. it was brilliant from a fans point of view to see his appriciation of this also at the time. his performances from then on proved he was on the same wave length etc. in one way i say good luck alonso, but in another way i sincerly wish that he'd showd more commitment to the club & especially the fans! we deserve better especially after the way he was given support of the highest order.
live in deam land -i may do, but as anyone who knows me on this forum by now -will know i only want players who give 100% to LFC an that alonso hasn't shown that,is a massive disapointment to me personally.
if alonso wants to leave,as much as it hurts me to say so -then he MUST leave,i only want players playing for our club who are totaly commited,an love the 'fans' in un conditional way.
still gutted at alonso's impending depature,i really am.
