The Alonso Thread - hands in transfer request

Sorry to put a dampener on things, but Tony Evans the daily mail editor and a life long liverpool fan was saying on talksport that he has heard from the very top of Anfield that we would only sell Alonso for a crazy amount of money, not the 25 million quoted in the papers, but  Alonso does want to leave for real.

Much appreciated mate I guess they are indeed the supreme force in football then, makes you wonder why they don't win the champions league every year when they have the muscle to pluck the best players from around the world for "peanuts". Must be very annoying for them   :wwww

Bit confused why the domestic Spanish TV license is worth so much more than the UK one though. I really hope Hicks and Gillet can start marketing us properly over in the states, imagine the huge revenue opportunities there.

I wonder if there are some statistic to show this aspect in their past franchises?

it sounds to me  more like a statement designed to "out" any bidder (or even mascher or xabi) , so that we can get these deals done and have the rest of the summer to spend our wonga

if xabi and/or javier leave this summer, no one wants it to happen in August

the answer is money... the players got so much money in their pockets they don't have the passion to win anymore... even if they lose, they have the knowledge that they're earning in the region of 200,000 per week.

Florentino Perez is a serious man who has the second biggest construction company of the world.
H&G are just a pair of presumptuous club busters.

don't tar every player with the same brush mate. for me i will always remember the SG sernario,he was offered orig alot more money to join sh1tsk1 but stayed with us- never mind all the bu11sh1t politics that went on behind the scenes at the end of the day he stayed with the club he loves.

yes he may have been given more money to stay with us, but for me SG will always have my respect for that, but that's another debate as some people may think otherwise.

So what is the deal with Real Madrid Sabre, are they really that cash rich or as your song suggests being bankrolled by the government?

It's a mixture of corruption, money washing, and loans. with "If you give me money now, I'll order a profitable business to you later", and "I'll wash your money for a percentage" services.

If the fúcking Ferengi of Star Trek ran a club, it would be Real Madrid.

Article says

Forbes magazine estimates Perez has a personal fortune of £1.1bn, not that he has ever needed to dip into his own pockets to pay for players. Nor does he plan to, and under Real's constitution, nor is he allowed to. Equally he is forbidden from profiting from the club.

:D

Yes, and Santa Klaus exists.

Reminds me of communism. Lots of lofty ideals, but then in practice, its a breeding ground for corruption.

I think you may well be right there mate, it's not like the club to come out and make official statements about players in that way, particularly where they comment on players who have also been linked to us as part-x  :(
