I would hate to see him go but if he did have to id be glad it's not to a rival side at least. But as for price minimum 19Mil imo.

Do they have any players we could use in a  swap?

This Alsonso uncertainty is like a bad hangover - just wish it would go away.

If he goes.. it will be one of, if not the worse decision Rafa has made..  Surely he will not leave.  He has auguably been our best/most consistant player this season
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

He came close to sellinghimbefore so I wouldn't put it past him. Depends on how bad Rafa still wants Barry. And if we need to raise money and Juve put in a big bid it could happen. This is why I hope we get sold soon so Rafa isn't forced to do such a thing.

Alonso for 16 mil ????? no chance in hell

i'd say 20 mil at least :nod

But selling him would be a bad idea, he is definetly one of the best midfielders in the world on his form at the moment.

But I have no worries about him leaving. Rafa is a smart man, Alonso at this time would be irreplacable. He wont be sold.

Liverpool boss no intention of selling players  30.04.09

Liverpool chief Rafa Benitez will not be selling any of his players, following on from reports that Juventus are ready to rekindle their interest in Xabi Alonso.

"I was reading the press and they are talking about different players," he told the club's official website.

"I can guarantee today that we are not thinking about selling anyone. All we are thinking about is to do our job and to try and win the Premier League title, if possible.

"After that you never know what can happen in the market. Clearly, at this moment, we are just preparing for winning games."

That Juventus are cheeky gets , they know what they can do, . I wiil personaly delare war on them if they even come within a snifter of our Xabi, Tell them to f.off Rafa , i am. No amount of money imo could we replace the class of Xabi Alonso, Tell them to go snoffin round Barry instead, I hope this isnt gonnabe the same as what i went through last year with the Xabi saga it done me head in.

Juventus dont have unlimited funds so where would the cash come from to buy both Diego and Alonso?  (Diego as replacement for Trezeguet?)
++

April 30, 2009  Diego has confirmed that he has opened discussions with Juventus about a possible move to the club next season.
The Brazilian forward admits that a deal will only be reached if his current club, Werder Bremen, sanction the move.

“Juventus have discussed an offer with us, but I cannot reveal any details to this point,” Diego is quoted as saying by TMW.
“I have a contract until 2011 with Werder Bremen, so my move also depends on the club and what they want.
“It is not up to me to say whether I will go or whether I will stay.”
The Bundesliga outfit are demanding €26 million for his services, whilst it has been reported that Juve are willing to offer around €20m.

I'd only consider offers in excess of £20m, maybe even £25m+. I couldn't believe Rafa was willing to sell Alonso in the summer, he's one of our key players along with Torres, Reina, Gerrard, Kuyt and Carragher.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

There was too much ambiguity in the comments in the paper yesterday for my liking -

Alonso's agent quoted as saying "you never know in football" and Rafa saying "everyone has a price" ...

It would be ludicrous to sell Alonso in the summer. He has probably been our player of the season.
