you wanna nip over the rawk site  :oh: its like the invasion of the bodysnatchers, all organising hit squads to assasinate the great Ronnie Whelan etc for being anti rafa naysayers. really bizarre!! btw this is the worse Liverpool team since Souness' finest..... probably even worse than them actually  I wouldnt mind Klinsmann at the moment.

one positive is Torres hasn't been on form carrying injuries. He's also young and will get back to fitness quicker...hopefully we'll see him on form again in March.

Yes, things can get worse is the simple and short answer. And they will.

RAWK is the biggest independant Liverpool related forum on the internet. It's also a hub for groups like SOS etc etc. If you want to go by the general fan base consensus, then there is a good place to get a good guage of it. Oh, and Ronny Whelan is a absolute gobshyte. If you ever watch RTE, then you'd know what I'm talking about. He talks absolute balls and makes Dunphy look smart.

I also can't understand how anyone can say that this is the worst side, even poorer than Souness' side. How can it be? People seem to omitt the single fact that Souness took a great side, a title winning side, and dismantled it, replacing it with poorer players and selling off the best. Benitez hasn't done this as he hasn't had a title winning outfit to build from, or destroy. In fact, again, you omitt this is virtually the same side as last seasons. Our form is as poor as that Souness side, but the quality of our squad isn't.

Sorry but how is he being loud mouthed and obnoxious. Just becuase you are incapabale of properly defending Rafa and detailing your love ad respect for the man who earns over £3million a year without resorting to personal abuse doesn't make the better debater/poster a cretin, rather the reverse.

Please tell us how you feel Rafa is going to pull this around wen he has been unable to do it all seasn, what will change to turn is into a credible team again?

Thats a tad harsh comparing Benitez to Souness..........So Benitez ripped apart a title winning side did he ...........I need to check our League stats pre Benitez cos I hadn't realised we had won the League before he came to LFC !

For all sorts of reasons Souness was way way worse than Benitez although last night took me back to the very end of Soiuness's reign when we were outplayed by a lower League Bristol City in the Cup and I'm pretty sure the day after Souness got the chop but I might be wrong on the timeline there.

Klinsmann

But in that case Rafa must be the worst manager ever. He has virtually the same team as last season and we are now utter garbage as a footballing side. At least Souness had to sell quality players to acheive that, Rafa managed it with the same players, and yet people defend him and call him a genius, it is quite astounding.

Liverpool's Fernando Torres to have operation on knee

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres needs an operation on his right knee and will be out of action for six weeks.

Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun have also joined the Reds' injury list.

Gerrard will miss two weeks with a hamstring strain, while Benayoun faces three to four weeks on the sidelines because of a fractured rib.

All three were injured in Liverpool's FA Cup defeat by Reading on Wednesday, providing yet more bad news for under-fire Reds boss Rafael Benitez.

Spain striker Torres lasted barely half an hour against Reading, while Liverpool captain Gerrard went off at half-time.

A Liverpool spokesman said both players had undergone scans on Thursday.

"Steven has a hamstring strain and will be out for a fortnight, while Fernando has torn a cartilage in his right knee," the spokesman added.

"The injury will require surgery and he is expected to be sidelined for six weeks."

Benayoun - one of Liverpool's better players in what has been a desperately disappointing season so far - sustained a fractured rib in the 2-1 extra-time loss to Reading.

The trio will miss this weekend's match against Stoke and the subsequent Premier League encounters with Tottenham and Wolves but the Reds will hope to have Gerrard back in time to face Bolton on 30 January.

However, Torres's injury means he is set to miss next month's Merseyside derby against Everton and February's league matches with third-placed Arsenal and fourth-placed Manchester City.

Torres and Gerrard have struggled with injuries for most of the season, with both finding it difficult to hit top form as Liverpool's fortunes have waned.

The triple setback comes at a time when Benitez is under mounting pressure, with his side out of the Champions League and both domestic cups and down in seventh place in the Premier League.
