i hear you fix leaks by profession. how about fixing your mouth? ;)

my views? first of all, i can't understand why is it that the UK pledged so much money for the redevelopment of Iraq yet they arent forking out the same amount for issues within their own walls.

secondly, Tony Blair used his power as PM at that time to send troops to Iraq without consulting other ministers. This was one of the reasons why the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 was formed wasn't it? furthermore, some families had this impression that their sons were being sent only for a peacekeeping mission, not war.

Since Labour came to power, the British government has often expressed its desire to be 'at the heart of Europe'. Supporting US policy has allowed the UK to halt the French and Germans from pushing through the Common European Foreign Policy. Britain cannot hope to develop its political clout in the EU unless it is able to align itself in opposition to this Franco-German alliance. so it's all political surprise surprise.

thirdly, Cool Hand Luke does mention some very good points especially about how the media focuses everything in the Middle East while ignoring the situation in Africa. why? is it because there is no natural resources that is of importance there compared to Middle East?

and finally, how many more innocent ones are gonna die before the objective is reached? i am convinced, based on their track record that the USA has ulterior motives and hidden agendas. depending on which perspective you take, the glass is either half full or half empty. personally, i feel the general idea of going to war "for the benefits of human rights and to prevent further violation" is a very noble one. but how true is that?

It's got sweet f*ck all to do with the Taliban and never has. That's just media propaganda bollox. The backwash of the Bush administration is obviously still in some people's mouths and they'll drag that dead cat through the mud as long as they possibly can, at least until they invent another excuse. The thing is, Afghanistan is important to America and Britain because it's a strategical apex of land. Should the Russians become a threat once more, that peice of land will become extremely important as a foothold to the middle-east and surrounding area.

TBH i don't think england should have joined forces with USA and gone to war with them. Should have let the americans take care of their own business. If we did not join with america i doubt it 7/7 would have happened. With the US there is always a hidden agenda. We all know reason why they went to iraq was to drain their resources... (oil anyone!)

Its the British soldiers that are suffering from this shithole of a war.. Waste of money which could be put in better usage in this country.

As for the war in afghanistan... 9/11 was blamed on al-qaeedah and reason why afghanistan was bombed was because the taliban were protecting osama. When the hidden agenda is ignored the situation is always changed. Media turn attention to how fecked the country was run etc... If thats the case then what about sudan, zimbabwe and other brutal regimes....
Main purpose or excuse is put as side and when one knows it was a mistake to go in the first place then they bring out other issues..

Question on iraq arrises was it better under saddam or is it better now???
For me is fecking the same and TBH worse now... Suicides bomb almost everyday...

Same could be said about afghanistan... We all know taliban had thier extreme views but i feel their leader should have told osama to feck off.. The situation in pakistan is getting dire now. After what happen in the red mosque in 2007 the situation has deteriorated.
I could see it only getting worse which is what the US want. They want to jump into pakistan start a war and grab their nuclear arsenal. Only power they fear at the moment in the east. India will always be with the US but pakistan is a worry!

US has a complete plan and for them the sad thing is this war will take decades to be over. There initial plan was to hit syria/iran next Its like a monster feasting on others necessities. US wants a stronghold in every country (global power), modern day empire spreading in a disguised form....
Research info on africa and you would realise it was the US that left them in the :censored:. Africa has tons of resources which the US feeds on.

There are some interesting theories out there which invole the US and trust me research them and you will be shocked. Stuff on the illuminti etc...

I was against the Iraq war from the start as I always believed it to be a lie by bush and blair (and I believe I was proved right) however, I support the afghanstan war, pakistan and afgghanastan are camps for terrorists. want to know how to blow up a london station, or hijack a plane into NY, how can anyone, not view this as a threat.

I do not give a f&ck if a muslim country wants to live under their rules, but if they are a threat (whic Iraq never was) to our way of life _ f*ck them, I support britain 100 per cent in this war.

I do have my doubts about how winnable it is though, read your history, britain has bee bogged down here many times.

I agree with most of your post Niall, but I also supported us going into Iraq...... I also thought we should have finished what we started the first time in the first Gulf war. (I believed Blair at the time, but like you I now believe we were lied to)
