I'd just get rid of it. It's become an irrelkevence because nobody posts in there.
As for the problems on the main board, IMHO it needs stronger moderation, as usual mostly from people themselves. That's not the "lets ban everyone" moderation, but moderation which reduces multiple threads on the same subject, reduces threads which have at their heart the desire to drag other posters into flame wars, and obviously the continual stamping out of abuse. I think people ought to help the mods by not abusing people, not starting threads which try and drag people into flame wars, and not starting multiple threads on the same subject.
Once though threads are up and running, I think it would help if people who don't like them don't post in them. We've had the strange situation over the last few days where people start threads which directly relate to the managers performance, and then when you voice an opinion in that thread (which often they started) they accuse you of spamming the forum with posts about the manager. Equally, a thread about another manager in a little used side corridoor of the forum seemingly gets people wound up. They could simply not read it if they don't want to.
Also, I think posters (me included) could do more to try and stay broadly within the thread title while posting. This doesn't mean if you post on the Aurelio thread that you shouldn't mention Insua, because obviously the young fella is of great interest to everyone, and his standing within the squad is directly linked to Aurelio. Equally, sayign within that thread you don't actually rate Dossena is fair enough (or indeed if you do rate him it's also fair enough) as it relates in. Obviously though, going off on one in the same thread that Rafa wasted 7 million quid buying Dossena and he is therefore s sh!te manager, is not really in the spirit of the forum. This I think is at the crux of what has wound people up, and it's fair enough.
I do seem to have been largely blamed for it, and I'm not talking by numpties who don't know their ersehole from their earhole, I'm talking about by normally sensible people. I don't agree with the accusations, and I must point out that I never saw any such boredom when we were top of the league and in every thread people were talking about how fantastic the manager was. That said though, on that score I'm sure I'm somehwere near the top of the list of people who could improve, and I'll do my best to do so.
On the moderators question, I should also point out that I'm not criticising them. I just think that as the forum evolves, there are times when a period of "lock down" is needed, zero tolerence for silliness and we might be in one of those periods now. If for instance I am truly guilt of spamming threads and derailing discussions, point it out and brandish cards (I obviously don't want cards but you get my drift).
We have these bad hair months on here occasionally, it's unfortunate but inevitable. I actually don't find the forum too bad a place to hang out at the moment, and on a personal level am getting probably marginally less abuse than I was a couple of weeks ago which is cool. Many people do though appear to have a problem with the way things are, so lets have a bit of lights out at 8pm.
