Strange one that Xavi, Senna, an our Xabi all starting together.Doesnt Senna play a similar role to Alonso

In Spain we can play a double holding midfielder and not being depressed nor moan about negativity.

Plus, when Sennas has played alongide Alonso, which has happened often as of late, Alonso had more freedom to go up.

We're discussing the game in the international football section if anyone wants to join.  :)

I still haven't found out what his celebration was about when he scored against Pompey.  Anyone know?

Torres is fantastic. He tends to score on the most desperate moments of the game.
what are the opinions on talks of Voronin's return?
seems like he's doing quite decent in Berlin.

I thought he was more of a Mascherano type but with a bit of Samba to him.

Its saying on SSN this morning, that Torres is likely to miss the next couple of games after limping off last night

More tests will be done over the next couple of days. We're playing Saturday and Tuesday - so I think he could miss both (considering we've got Madrid, then Utd after that) :(

What did he actually do though? it was unclear to me what was actually up with him. That said, I never thought I'd hear myself say it but Kuyt hasn't done too badly up top recently so as long as Gerrard is OK, we maybe able to scrape through. I think and hope that Pompey Away (I think that was the game) was probably the last time we'll see David N'Gog starting as the lone striker for a year or two, while babels performances are if anything getting worse by the game.

Kuyts renaissance couldn't have come at a better time, and with Benayoun going from strength to strength we are looking OK just now. We simply MUST win those two matches though against the North Eastern clubs, so whoever plays has got to be able to go from minute one.

According to Torres he stepped on Pepe's foot on the first play of the game and he twisted the ankle there.

Torres wanted to stay on the pitch but he didn't ask for a substitution. In half time, he was given an inyection, but according to Rafa he was subbed "thinking of the future".

Gutted to read what Redman in Wales says, hopefully it's less than that, we're being battered by injuries this season

It was clear he was running with a limp and he should have been subbed there and then. Who knows what damage he has done by playing on. He will certainly have made it worse by staying on for the 60 mins.

F*ckin stupid of Rafa. A stupid risk to take.

compared to man utd we've had it easy with injuries.

Personally i think Torres hasn't recoevered from last summers international duties and he's in need of a summer off and a full pre-season.
