Interesting first half that, decent game. I think we've looked the more likely to score, and I think Masherano in particular and also Fabio Aurelio hve been excellent. I'd be a ttle nervous if Drogba came on (is he on the bench?) but obviously it's one of those games where the first goal is absolutely vital.

Our two wide midfielders have probably been by a distance our worst two players which isn't helping. Riera really isn't at the races, while Kuyt is offering his normal workrate but not much else. Ashley Cole is begining to get confident enough to bomb on himself, and as the game progresses that may prove a problem.

Ultimately though, both teams need the win so second half should provide some interesting moments.

Both wide players have been very poor, both have wasted 5 or 6 good opportunities between them.

Kuyt is not good enough and Riera is as good as you would expect for the money.

I think you will find also defenders are this season a lot quicker to close Torres down compared to last season.

Torres not seemed right since he returned from injury.

Yeah i know he needs a few games to settle back in, but he has had a few now. Seems a bit off the pace still.

Would be nice if he had some support ( either keane or kuyt ).

Talking of keane, saw a shot of him in the stands........seemed totally fed up ( dont balme him ) prob knows his days are numbered.

Shame

I think we should go to a 4-4-2 because Torres keeps on running into a defensive brick wall. Its a bit risky as we seem to be doing well in midfield but we need a goal.

I think torres has done okay against 4 defenders , there has been times where he has been alone by himself . Never been a big fan of the 4-5-1 , push kuyt uptop and stevie on the right and that would be better
