Torres will score, I know it.  And if Gerrard can score too, we just might win.

dont ask me why, but i have a good feeling about this game. I mean it would be typical of Rafa to pull a rabbit out of the hat after the recent dire peformances, well lets hope so anyway. 1-0 Liverpool, in a real tight, scrappy match :)

A draw is no good to either team but I still think this one will finish 1-1

Rafa is under pressure, if we lose the reaction will be interesting.

Maybe this is what our players need..a massive game.So far this season we have risen to the challenge in big games and the passion that seems to be missing against smaller teams gets unleashed. If this does'nt wake our players up and drag the best from them nothing will, because being honest if we loose this game IMO we are out of it...this is by far the biggest game we've had in a very long time!
Of course a lot depends on Rafa.I'd love to see this team but I know it wont happen

                                     Reina

                 Arbelo     Carragher   HYYPIA   Aurelio

                 Gerrard    Mascherano  Alonso  Reira

                               Keane        Torres

* Hyypia in capitals cause hes 5 times better Still than Agger or Skrtel! :)

That to me is our strongest team by a mile.
I don't buy into all this "with Alonso and Masch in the middle we have no creativity"I think thats balls in fact.Gerrards main role is on the right of course but he can and will still come into the middle as he showed plenty of times in the season he played there and scored a bagfull.
To me that is the most balanced team LFC can field with using the best 11 players available at the same time.Maybe the only one I would swap would be Insua for Aurelio but he's still away right?

Please Rafa no Lucas...No Kuyt...and double please NO Fu*king BABEL in the first 11.

i like that team aswel. even though its not gerrards perferred position he would still be heavily effective.. who knows maybe he could feed keane and torres really well from the right..

Yes - go with that team!
A team without Lucas and Kuyt is a much better prospect

Hopefully Rafa will have gall stones, kidney stones, gaut or a dodgey arsé and watch the game from the safety of a hospital ward and leave the decisions to Sammy.

RAFA: WE CAN TURN TIDE IN FEBRUARY

Rafa Benitez today urged his players to put a difficult month behind them by getting February off to a flier on Sunday.
Click here to watch our exclusive chat with Rafa>>

The Reds won one and drew four of their January fixtures, dropping from first to third in the Barclays Premier League.

As a result, this week's headlines have not reflected the fact that Liverpool are eight points better off than at this stage last season.

But Benitez knows all this will change with a victory over Phil Scolari's Chelsea on Sunday.

He told his weekly press conference: "We know in January we have not won games that we could have won. But the positive news is that January has finished!

"I can guarantee you 100 per cent that I didn't read the press or watch the TV (after Wigan). I just enjoyed time with my family, because I knew there could be people talking.

"We are eight points better than last season. We are two points from the top. We are in a fantastic position and I'm sure if we beat Chelsea people will talk in a different way. That's football. Again I will say, we are in the best position we've been in for the last 10 or 15 years and we have to enjoy it.

"In August we talked about wanting to be contenders. We were in a fantastic position and people were saying, 'This is your year'. But we are still in the title race. We just have to keep the confidence and if we beat Chelsea, everyone will be saying we have options. If we can't beat them, we just have to keep going because it's a long race."

Journalists quizzed Benitez on whether he saw similarities between Liverpool's press coverage this week and that endured by Scolari and Chelsea earlier in the season.

He responded: "Scolari is a fantastic manager with experience. He's doing a very good job. It's part of the game that people who maybe don't know too much talk.

"Chelsea clearly have a very good team. They can be there.

"They are playing offensive, good football. They have good players and they will be close right until the end."

Liverpool go into the game having already beaten their two main title rivals this season - and Benitez is under no illusions as to the importance of making it a hat-trick on Sunday.

He added: "To win at Stamford Bridge was difficult. It was a very good game and we showed quality and character. At Anfield we beat United and if we can do the same against Chelsea, maybe we'll write the headlines for something positive.

"It has always been important to win these games but this year it's maybe more important because we are closer.

"Last season we were a long way behind - it wasn't the same. But we're level with Chelsea now so it means even more that this could be three points for us and three points they can't get."

The boss was also asked about the possibility of scrapping the January transfer window and allowing clubs to buy players all year round until the final six weeks of the season.

Benitez does not back the idea, explaining: "I don't see any problem with two transfer windows, two options - it's good. If you change it you get a lot of speculation every week."

Meanwhile, Benitez has a fully fit squad going into the Chelsea clash aside from Philipp Degen, who picked up a knock in Thursday's reserve clash with Man Utd.

Or even Benayoun in Keane's position. For me, that's our strongest team.

I really like that team
