Jermaine pennant - off to valencia on a bosman

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Although I am not a total Kuyt fan the comparrison with Pennant makes me laugh I mean love him or hate him at least he has contributed something back.
Kuyt: Good work rate, Good Attitude, Important Goals on occasion (Europe, Penalties under pressure against Everton)
Pennant: Lazy, Terrible attitude, No Goals, contribution to Liverpools cause ?

good luck wherever you end up...

You are having a george giraffe...pennant a good player

You get what you pay for, if Pennant were that good we'd be playing him week in, week out and he'd have signed a new four year contract.

Rafa is a no nonsense manager, he makes his mind up and unfortunately he will go through with mistakes as well as making right choices. I rate getting shot of Pennant as a right choice, have to wonder why he signed him. £6.7m for someone we're doing without, I'd love to have that money to spend now, add that to the £20.3m spent on Keane and £7m on Dossena, and wonder how good a striker we might have signed given near £35m - Robinho...............? Berbatov?

mate, you could do that with 2 out of every 3 players rafa signs...

hes played 2 good/decent seasons with the club and would have been sold for decent money if he had been in or around the starting 11 when being put on the market...

u look at the clubs hes being linked to now: real, milan. seville, atletico, tottenham...etc and u know that had his contract been renewd earlier and maybe had he been given more minutes on the pitch lately, we could have made a few good mill from selling him..

I think that we should bring back Pennant.  He is not spectacular but he is definitely more consistent than that joker Benayoun.  Pennant can play on the right while Kuyt and Keane can fight it out for a spot upfront with Torres.

Consistent based on what? This season?

Benayoun has been very involved in many important games this season.

As I said he's not spectacular, but he does something positive in every game unlike Benayoun, who can be great in one game and an absolute disgrace in another.  I don't think that both these guys are good enough for a regular place at LFC, but if I had to choose it'd definitely be Pennant every day of the week.

I know this is a Pennant thread.....And I don't like the guy for his attitude...But if it's a choice between Benayoun and Pennant, give me Pennant any day.

Judge's link just says what it says in a paper today (see BBC gossip page if you care which one) - except I read it was £3m bid for Pennant from pompey. I'll just check on s*y website for any confirmation

BINGO - ING - GOING- GONE (Hopefully)

12.24 Portsmouth have agreed a fee with Liverpool for winger Jermaine Pennant.
