Christ is Pennant still here? ???

Get rid, all the reasons why are listed in this thread, not worthy of the shirt, simple
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

How lucky is this fella?

In The Times:

Jermaine Pennant, the out-of-favour Liverpool winger, has been given the chance to revive his career at AC Milan after being offered a pre-contract agreement by the Italian club, The Times has learnt.

Only a fortnight after the collapse of a move to Real Madrid, Pennant is being courted by another of Europe’s superpowers, with Milan eager to sign the player as a free agent when his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season.

The wage demands of Pennant, who is believed to be on about £60,000 a week at Anfield, are thought to have scuppered a move to Real two days before Christmas, but having been given what one source described as “a second chance of a lifetime”, Milan are confident that they will get their man, even though the winger is still pondering the offer.

It is another astonishing development in the career of a player whom Rafael Benítez, the Liverpool manager, tried unsuccessfully to offload last summer and has been on the scrapheap at Anfield since.

Pennant, who turns 26 on Thursday week, has not played for Liverpool since October 29, when he started in the 1-0 Barclays Premier League win at home to Portsmouth, with Benítez having lost patience with the player’s lifestyle and timekeeping. Although Wigan Athletic and Hull City are interested, Pennant has indicated that he favours a move abroad.

Milan are also preparing an £8 million offer for Daniel Agger, but Liverpool insist that the Denmark defender is not for sale.

So if his contract expires in the summer he can follow in Kewell's footsteps - and good riddance. I have to laugh at reported interest from Real Madrid and AC Milan, I wonder if the source was Pennant's agent....................
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

He can walk for free in the summer.

Looks like Rafa is in a bit of a situation here with Pennant. I hope he signs the extention. Ashely Cole as greedy as he was at least signed an extention so Chelsea paid something decent for him.

LIVERPOOL have offered Jermaine Pennant a new 12-month deal — to protect themselves if he turns into a loan star.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez is prepared to let Pennant — out of contract at the end of the season — leave Anfield but was hoping to bring in up to £4million for him.

With no one approaching that figure, Benitez could now loan him out.

And if he can get Pennant to agree to a new deal, the Reds would get a fee for him if the winger was a hit and joined another club on a permanent basis.

AC Milan have already offered Pennant a pre-contract agreement to join them on a free in the summer though.

And Pennant may sit tight in the hope of negotiating a hefty signing-on fee with a new club.

Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina wants a treble of Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

He said: “Our ambition this season is to challenge for every competition we enter. At Liverpool it’s the only way you can be.”

He’s a good player and at the prices being quoted there’s no wonder the big clubs are after his signature ... off the field you can call him all the names you want but imo he’s proven yet and again when he’s started for us that hes a good player and that hes up to playing at the top level...

good luck wherever you end up...

lsn mate its not about being greedy now is it...
theres different ways you can look at the whole thing..
hes been dropped from the side for no obvious reason, been treated like sht by benitez despite being one of our better players when hes been played... you have players like kuyt and elzhar being played in the right wing when its pretty obvious to most that pennant is way better than they are in that position... and he cant even make a 7man bench.. or a cup fixture.. its ridiculous really ...

why on earth would he sign a contract extension to get rafa a couple more million and lose out on a hefty signing on fee ? rafa obviously doesnt rate him and wont play him... cant see him signing then going out on loan only to be sold coe end of the season... i wouldnt do it and you know that you wouldnt do it either..
