adding on:

jesper gronkjaer could be a short term solution on the right.
if he still has it. no clue where he is now.

Didn't rate him at all to be honest mate.

Quick, decent feet but not very effective.

yeah he's gone off he radar now. what do you think of Daniel Odonkor though? i recall him being very highly rated but not heard off since. was he all about pace and no end product?

Odonkor is cack, zero intelligence, dribbles like mark gonzalez, poor touch and poor passing, but he is  decent crosser, and pacy.

Another version of Mark Gonzalez, only he plays on the right.

We were linked with the Croation lad Srna a few years ago. I remember their chairman banging on about Liverpool "planting a seed" but nothing ever materialised in the end. What happened there?

We just have to make it through this season and then get all the deadwood out in the Summer. Pennant, Voronin, Dossena and Lucas. Alonso will probably go too but once they have gone then Rafa HAS to spend like 15mil on a top class player. We cannot keep going season by season with a team of some good players and mostly average players.

Some good picks so far, but some I think aren't what we need.

Seedorf - has loads of quality and experience, but I can't seewhere he'd
fit in to the 4-2-3-1 at all, nor 4-4-2 for that matter (we've got the personnel for that).

Riquelme - I think he's boss, and I'd love to see him at Liverpool.
The fact he's not got pace is baloney, he makes up for that with quality.

Owen - I'd rather not see that fecker again, with the way he fu.cked us off.
BUT - if he was going cheap it would be worth it, he can be a goal machine.

For me we are in desparate need of a full back. Who the fu.ck recommended Dossena? Fu.ckin joke player.
He's never played in England but there's a brilliant left back for Boca Juniors called Morel,
he plays for Paraguay.
I think maybe we missed one in Sylvestre.

But going back to the topic i.e. an experienced Prem player
who can have an impact like Gary Mac.....

I cant think of anyone who would have a bigger impact than Henry.

But Effes Riquelme is very slow paces and doesnt defent at all. Thats why he had such a bad time at Barca. He didnt like to get stuck in tackles and do any dirty work. In England you have to be able to defend at times as well look at even Kuyt! I agree he is an intelligent player but wouldn't fit in here. Joaquin is someone with a more all round game imo and could adapt easier.

Bav - I know what you're saying.

But we cant always use the pace/ tracking back argument.

He'd do what Beardsley did for us, I have no doubt.

No way mate.

We need Alonso, Masch AND Gerrard for the 4-2-3-1.

God knows who we'd get rid of, if we have to to get a player in.

We wouldn't get much off an Italian team for Dossena, likewise no one
would pay much for Babel.

Anyway, it was Henry I was calling for.

Because if we are still there or there abouts next year I worry some of our lot might bottle it.

So suggestions? I think Heinze & Henry ( on the offal again today :D )

Would be great additions to have.

Any more players to throw into the mix? That people think would make a difference?

we need to buy English.

we will not have the money for them so we will get players that we dont know and that are :censored:.
we will start of by saying how good they are and after 5 games they turn to :censored:.......must be when they get paid.

Got any names in mind, Lakes, or will any English player do?  I find it an interesting view because you seem concerned about not having the money to afford top talent yet seem oblivious to the fact that English players (or Premiership players, more accurately) are some of the most overpriced footballers on the planet.  And, as Robbie Keane is currently reminding us, there's no guarantee of success when you do splash the cash for a proven premiership player.  Personally, I'm not a.rsed who issues their passport as long as they can do a job and we're able to afford them.

Are you sure? The english players that Rafa has bought havent really cut it here, keane, Pennant, Bellamy, Crouch (He wanted to leave I know). Plus they are the most overated, overpaid players on the planet.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011
