If it was up to me I wouldn't play him for the next few weeks. As far as I'm concerned there's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't win our next four games without him.

Then you are in the middle of the training pitch, with your whistle, and Torres comes, and looks to your eyes and tells you: "Barry, I want to play this game, it's very important for me".

Would you

a) Obligue, you want to keep your star player happy. The risk of injury is small anyway. Go to page 124.

b) Stick to your plan, and not risk him. Go to page 168.

I think you can't always  be too rigid, and sometimes you have to yield some of the players' demands.

I would tell him he was being sentimental and that his heart was ruling his head Sabre!
He's too important to be risked because he wants to play against his boyhood club.Say he plays tonight, wrecks his hamstring and is out longterm..would it be worth it? Absolutely no way.
Its daft to risk him until he is 100% fit and ready.
If he plays tonight I hope its not before time and only because his injury is behind him,not because he "wants to".

We shouldn't need him but the reality is we desperately need him as we desperately need some bloody goals unless Robbie can finally start behaving like a £20 million striker!

Don't mean to worry you, but we bought Bellamy and 06/07 was a pretty ordinary season. Bellamy only cost £6m and the spookiest of coincidences is he only scored two goals in his first 18 games........................................

'good' news is Bellamy did manage nine by the end of the season.

NEWSFLASH - Keane has to play the next game and he will score two goals, using the spooky comparison with Bellamy who scored twice in his 19th game in a 4-0 win over Wigan.

DISCLAIMER - if this prophecy doesn't come true it is entirely the fault of Keane/Dossena/Rafa/Rotation/Kuyt/Bad Chicken Karma *delete as applicable* Await Keane being left out *sighs*

Torres: I'd make Atletico return
Sun 09 Nov, 12:15 PM

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has not ruled out the possibility of returning to Atletico Madrid, but insists it won't be any time soon.Torres earned legendary status at Atletico before moving to Liverpool in 2007.
The 24-year-old Spain international said it was the right time to leave, but he would love to wear the red and white of Atletico again.
"I hope to experience many things still, but for me it is an exceptional club," said Torres.
"I don't know if I will retire there, but I would like to go back and finish some things that are left to do.
"When I was there I couldn't do any more, but I would like to go back."
He added: "Right now I have no plans to leave England. Not to Spain, not to Italy, not to another English club."
Torres has taken the Premier League by storm since leaving his homeland, scoring 33 goals in all competitions during his first season at Anfield.
That has put him in the running to win the Ballon d'Or as the European player of the year, although he does not believe he has much chance of taking that award.
"No. There is a clear favourite. I think there have been very few years when there

A meaningless game.

If he gets injured in this there will be war.

Rafa should just say he has picked up a knock, like Fergie does

A few new faces, still no Owen which is a joke. Was that his SIXTH goal yesterday in an injury hit season, I think Crouch has played all but an hour of Pompey's season and scored just four. I've heard pundits say, and I completely concur, that he is a goalmachine and worth a place if only in the squad. He'd make an impact off the bench more often than any of the strikers in this squad would from the off

England squad to play Germany: Carson, Hart, James, Bridge, Davies, Johnson, Terry, Lescott, Mancienne, Richards, Upson, Barry, Carrick, Downing, Lampard, GERRARD, Wright-Phillips, A Young, Agbonlahor, Bent, Crouch, Defoe, Walcott.
