Agent: Torres in love with Liverpoolby RivalsDM

Fernando Torres' agent has admitted a number of top clubs have enquired about the Liverpool striker, but insists he is happy at Anfield.  Manchester City have been linked with a mega-bid for the Spain international as they look to establish themselves as one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Torres enjoyed a sensational debut season with Liverpool last term following his switch from Atletico Madrid and he is in the running for the FIFA World Player of the Year award.

Reports suggest Liverpool are preparing to offer the forward, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, a lucrative new deal in a bid to ward off potential suitors.

Torres' agent, Jose Antonio Martini, admits the striker has no shortage of admirers, but that he has no intention of quitting Liverpool.

"Big European clubs are always asking about Torres, but he loves it at Liverpool and is keen to get fit to fight for the title and Champions League," Martini is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

when torres comes back, how do you think we'll set up?
i can't recall to many times where we played keane and torres up front in a 4-4-2 ???
if we stick as 4-2-3-1 with torres as the main striker, do you think keane will play as one of the advanced 3 or just be benched?

imo, strongest 4-2-3-1.....

.................reina
arbeloa..skrtel..carra..aurelio
..........masch..alonso
kuyt.........gerrard...keane
...............torres

and strongest 4-4-2...

.................reina
arbeloa..skrtel..carra..aurelio
gerrard..alonso..masch..riera              <--- can't really see this happening though as i can't imagine Rafa dropping Kuyt!
...........keane..torres

I prefer this too..

.................reina
arbeloa..skrtel..carra..aurelio
gerrard..alonso..masch..riera
...........keane..torres

but I honestly don't think there is too much chance we will see this. I think gerrard on the right is a thing in the past esp since our captain is playing fantastically just behind the lone striker.. often not even with his "telepathic" partner (torres). With torres coming back and hopefully staying fit, I am anticipating even better things from gerrard behind the lone-striker.

So that likely leaves us with this...

.................reina
arbeloa..skrtel..carra..aurelio
..........masch..alonso
kuyt.........gerrard...reira
...............torres

Apart from reira.. this is effectively our line-up from last year.

That triggers some questions in my mind.. what was Rafa thinking when he bought Keane.. since he is CLEARLY not a lone-striker? Surely he bought Keane with the intention to play him behind torres right? Perhaps he was considering this line-up before season started (therefore alonso was "allowed to go")?

.................reina
arbeloa..skrtel..carra..aurelio
..........masch..gerrard
kuyt.........keane...reira
...............torres

Anyway, the fact that Alonso didn't leave (thank God) and has been a revelation this season so far... he has earned his right to play together with masch who excels in breaking up play.

This maybe controversial.. I think Keane has been unlucky with how events were turning out for him, IRONICALLY with torres' injury. Bcos having been bought for that particular role... he has had no lone-striker (a brilliant one, no less) to play-off. Instead, he has to assume the lone-striker role himself.. one that he wasn't bought for and simply can't excel in!

Whatever happened happened but I just feel the current situation doesn't look very optimistic for Keane but we will see.

Any thoughts anyone?

We should play our best team.

          Keane    Torres

Reira   Alonso    Gerrard   Bennayoun/Pennant

Insua   Hyypia  Carragher  Arbeloa

                 Reina

We should be looking to improve the right back and right wing area's asap and we should be looking to replace Sami with a top class centre half.

Then we'll be in business and have a top quality side.
