CHELSEA VS LIVERPOOL - We can do it!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The last 15 mins were hairy there. The defenders need to push Chelsea out a lot quicker after nullifying an attack. Too often, after breaking down an attack, they just sat there waiting for the next attack. Gerrard was unlucky to be penalised for that fair tackle, we missed out on an excellent break then too.

We are getting pushed back too far, if we cant get the possession over 45% I dont think that we will be able to stop Chelsea from scoring. There was that time where Gerrard was motioning Aurelio forward but he was reluctant, then a ball was played into where he maybe should have been.

We are living dangerously if we keep this up.

I know the ideal thing would be to deny them posession. Winning in Stamford Bridge is difficult, but winning comfortably perhaps it's too ask much. I'm afraid it's impossible not to suffer here unless we hit them on the counter.

Do you think we should try Kuyt up front Gerrard on the right?

we're trying to be clever sometimes and short pass our way out of defence... I admire the confidence but that needs to be cut out...

I dont mind playing on the counter, but we have to push our back four out of our box when get hold of it. Chelsea dont look dangerous when Carragher and Agger are out of the box, the wet conditions are making it hard to play on the floor. The real danger is crosses when they have several men in the 6 yard box.

Stats

Unbeliveably the game has been played

Chelsea third 28%
Centre third 45%
Liverpool third 27%

Liverpool attacking 20% left, 20% right, 60% centre.
Chelsea 28% left, 21% right, 51% centre.

Chelsea playing wider... Liverpool trying to bulldoze down the congested centre.

Reminds me of the old Royal Marines saying 'stacks of smoke and straight up the middle'.

Cant work that out as Chelsea have campfires lit in our third !

Reira has to be careful he doesnt get a second yellow........  Masher knows the importance of keeping cool.

Kick off SH, LFC fast attack with Gerrard. Nowt.
