Action should be taken on the Reff now, if that had been us getting the red card we would have gone made.
Ref's can kill the game with a mistake like that, from what i hear even a Liverpool player told the ref it was not a sending off.

Its actually the opposite of what you said, becuase he seen it and didnt do anything - thats why Bosingwa cant be charged now.

This mini quote is from the bbc regarding the incident and reason for no punishment......

Team-mate Jose Bosingwa will not face any action for stamping on the back of Yossi Benayoun in the same match.

The Portuguese was not punished at the time and because the assistant referee admitted seeing it, the Football Association cannot review the incident.

And why does Angry gray call him boswinger ?

We should give the lad a trial until the end of the season.

If he works out, get Rafa on the phone quick as we dont need to replace Keane!

I cannot believe that know one has used their head and put common sense over the rule book on this one. You cannot go around kicking people becasue you have had a bad game and your side is losing.

the linesman clearly saw it and waved his flag but the fact is the ref clearly didn't see it or he surely would have given a free kick at least. maybe riley thought the linesman was flagging for the ball having gone out.
stupid, really stupid.
even if the linesman saw it, it was clearly not acted upon. and something really should be done by the FA. otherwise it makes a mockery of the rules.

If as it says in the bbc link that the linesman saw it, then he should get a ban like what happens with referees, as it was serious foul play and about 1 yard away from him.

the linesman said his view was obscured by someones foot, and couldnt see yossi, and therefore couldnt give a free kick :D

Surely that cannot be true tho, watch the video.

Even if the initial fowl was commit by Benny it still doenst mean Bosingwa should be allowed to get away with it.

Dont get ye point ?

What they are probably saying is that if the officials have given a decision whether they seen full incident or not it was dealt with during the game so cant be reviewed.

Its all b'llocks politics anyway, if someone has made a challenge that is dangerous like that, even if it was seen by the ref or linesman you should still be able to charge them afterwards.

Agreed. It's absolutely ridiculous to think that someone calling the shots simply cannot say, ok it may not have been seen during the game, but for such a blatant attack on a player some form of punishment is warranted.

Have to say though, although I am incredulous at the Bosingwa get-away, I am happy enough that the red card was overturned for Lampard, as it was a bloody disgraceful decision in the first place. But likewise, I believe that Riley let the second OBVIOUS red card go because he felt he was evening things out. The tit.

Riley is a blight on our great game and I dread EVERY match he's involved in. But for the lack of guys wanting to get involved in the Ref business, he'd have been drop-kicked out of the ranks ages ago.
