I need to buy a compact digital camera asap because my current one is bashed in.

I see you can get up to 10 megapixels these days for pay 100-150 quid?

I dont need anything fancy, just a good honest point and shoot with a good zoom (for on the beach ...) and I guess the ability to post vids on youtube.

What would you suggest oh wise ones?

Ta

Thats the model that I´ve got and has packed in !!

The internal link within the camera that connects with your pc to download pics. I had it fixed last summer for 60 quid for a new chip/software board but the darn this is playing up again so no point wasting another 60 quid minimum charge to get it fixed again.

I reckon these things are programmed to explode after a few years.....   :Oo:

cannons are very good cameras. the main problem with them is they usually retail about 10% more £ than a similar spec camera of other brands.

My last couple of cameras have been sonys because I ike the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens on them. and have have very good quality snaps out of them. I do however find them a bit slow when changing functions, and switching it on.

For 100-150 have a look at
this sony one

Olympus muju's are quite good as well, the zoom on this one is really good for the price

Hrmm, I don't know if theres anything wrong with it, but the fact that it says Coolpix would turn me away from it.  Just sounds funny.

And please feel free to share your pictures with us, nothing like some trips to the beach in Brasil  :D
