On Badbob's post :-

I agree mate when I posted my inital comments I was a little upset at the way the series was going, but once it got back on track, it was clear that it had also been a necessary developement as well as a little gratuitous sex  (if that doesn't boost the ratings nothing will :D  )

Can't wait for the third series to start later this month.

Same here, although we don't get Showtime--which means we'll have to settle for watching the watered down version of the episodes on CBS until the DVDs come out.

Got about halfway through Season 3 of The Shield and stopped watching it.

The reason being believe it or not, I used to watch it on my lunch break in an old job I had two years ago on my iPod video.  I know it's not the same as watching it on a big telly but don't knock it until you've tried it when you hate your job, you hate everyone you work with and you just want to kick back with a bit of Vic Mackey and the Strike Team and not be bothered for an hour.

Anyway, had an accident where I lost all data on said iPod and couldn't be arsed downloading them again.

Needless to say at some point in the future I will be watching them back to back from Season 3 onwards.

About to get into The Wire I reckon when I'm back off my holiday.

Well Dawson not sure whats its like in UK but in Oz when TV companies treat their viewers with contempt when trying to views show they make turning downloading all that much easier.

Programs chopped and changed on different timeslots, repeat episodes slipped in from week to week to pad out the season longer. Mindless reality tv, logo and promos cutting into viewing time

I didnt download myself but Im big fan of new Battlestar and like alot of cult or sci fi shows , its timeslot was normally on one saturday whenever TV execs felt like it.

Even today I wouldnt even be able to watch the latest series as its just coming on the HD channel which I dont have

Downloaders in fact have changed how quickly TV series come to Oz now. Before we would have to wait  6 months before onset of our autumn to see latest from US. Now shows like Lost , Heroes and others are being broadcast one week after the being viewed in the USA

I have started watching Porn - A Family Business. It's a reality type show (osbournes ect...) about a Adam Glasser, a porn director aka Seymour Butts. The show revolves around his every day life and the family members that also help run the business. His mum is the bookeeper. lol

I thought at first yeah yeah its just porn and there is a lot of that but once you get into it you dont even blink an eyelid.

Anyway top show!!! It comes on TMF pretty much every evening if anyone is interested.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Dexter rocks but I didnt enjoy series 2 as much as first series. Even though lovely lass from Hustle was showing heaps of flesh she really started annoying  me by the end
It certainly picked itself up for last few episodes though and I will be interested to see where story heads in series 3

Just started reading the books as well and they are good read

I'm a bit late watching it, but I've been getting really into Band of Brothers. The box set was bought for me years ago but I've never got round to watching it until now. It's absolutely brilliant. Some of those guys, in fact, all of those guys went through hell. We don't know how lucky we are sometimes.

I just finished Season 2 and I'm not entirely sure how I feel about all in total.  Season 1 has a tightness and focus that is not matched by Season 2 but, the character growth in Season 2 is interesting and largely well done.

**Again, Spoiler Alert**

If anything, though, I thought Season 2 peaked a bit too early.  The climax should have been Doakes v. Dexter, IMO, rather than having to deal with Lila (who was exceedingly annoying by the end).  I thought the best work had happened by the fourth or third last episodes and that the last couple had a little too much manic running to and fro.  Perhaps I'm just disappointed that they let one of their weakest characters kill off one of their best?  Anyway, I still think it's a top show and I eagerly await Season 3.

As for the books, I enjoyed the first book but didn't find it a patch on the television version.  Strangely, the book seemed much flatter than the show, with far less back story and character development/growth.  I say strange because books usual excel at filling in the gaps that movies or shows don't have time to (or aren't willing to). ???

I thought the first episode seemed to be a bit rushed in tying up the loose ends from the last series. Episode 2 was much better though and although the way they got Schofield, Lincoln, Sucre, Mahony and Bellick back together was a bit silly it does promise to be a good season.

Spot on, very dissapointed, it's an obvious case of stretching a story artificially, and it just doesn't click.

I guess I can forgive it and still watch all the season, but didn't like how the linked up

THe moment in which Bellick's mum appears and the big hug? I mean, come on  :D

Episode one was kind of retarded , sucre , bellick and t bag could not escape so they said that sona burned down in a  fire . :D . By the way you know girl who was captured , i think that was Gretchen , they did not show her getting murdered and Micahel spent the whole of season 3 trying to get whistler out of sona , in the end he dies in the first episode

I just dont like this downloading. ive heard all the excuses. some people say they are actually more likely to buy the dvd if they like the film or tv show, but thats rubbish. Tv companies make there money from advertising, its that simple. they get more money from advertising if they have better viewing figures. the more money they get the more other companies can spend on good shows for us to watch. With me?

Ok, so now you people download the show free. the channel loses the viewers and cant charge as much for advertising so get less revenue. so they cant buy the high end shows. the only big companies like sky can get them, soon that will go as well.

Its just not right, its that simple. im no saint looking for the best in all. but when it comes to tv and film, you guys are killing the industry slowly, thats how i see it.

Gone are the days when 24 was on bb2, followed by a 15 minute afetr every show live, that was pure genius. now its only on sky one, not even on virgin!!!

im still not gonna download it tho, im gonna buy it on dvd, gonna be tougher as got to wait longer but it is the right thing to do for the industry. call me a wuss all you like for this, but if i was in charge downloading tv and film would be illegal and id soon stamp it out. whilst its not tho, use the loophole, ruin tv, drive up tv licences so the elderly cant afford gas and electricity.

you're right in my view dawson. the same as many of the vegetarians that rationally explain to me why i shouldn't eat meat, and why most ecologists explain to me that i shouldn't drive a car, use washing powder or fly. all completely correct.

i guess i'm just a weak-willed bad person like everybody else.
