I actually really really like Big Phil, so very disapointed with this news.

was funny hearing his latest quote. as it turns out he is there for the money as he wants to retire, then he said it wasnt just teh money but he would have stayed national coach if they could have matched the cheatski wages. nice to see the manager has something already in common with the players. none of them are there for the fans or club :;):

Gene Hackman can get 2 fuck if he thinks he's getting Torres.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Good manager but he has a lot of pressure and will find the first season tough!

I think its a bit of a risk to be honest,he has not managed a League team in a long time and i may be wrong but i dont think hes managed in the C/L ever!
Theres also the factor he has very poor English if any.People say hes a passionate manager, well its gonna be hard to get passion through to every player through the help of an interpreter.

His name and record goes before him but i think he will find it hard coping with the intensity of the toughest League in the world after only working part time for years!
If he was coming to LFC id be worried,id much prefer a manager coming from anaother League team with Champions League pedigree.
It could be a short career for him,if he wins nothing he'll be gone!

Its a sad situation when a manager moves to another club simply for money.

Kenyon, Terry, Abramovich are all wasting their time, no one respects Chelsea, making mega bucks is their only reason for their supposed invovement. No one mentions the passion of playing for the club or the desire to achieve the ultimate prize. No, its '5 years then I´m out'.

Well done Big Phil, you´re as two faced as the rest of them.

Enjoy 5 years of plastic flags and empty terraces.

He has always been a great cup manager and that quality shows in winning a World Cup and 2 Copa Libatodores. Even when he was manager in Brazilian club football they had a play-off system to determine the winner and he won. So it will be interesting to see how he deals with the situation where 3 points in August hold the same importance as 3 points in May.

I do sort of feel sorry for him because like said above the pressure is on his straight away to win trophy's. I dunno if he gets sack if he doesn't win one this season but by the way Chelsea are run I would not be surprised at the least.
