Scolari at chelsea

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby The Manhattan Project » Wed Jun 11, 2008 9:12 pm

Big Phil Scolari is the new Chelsea manager.

What do you feel about that?

Do you care?

Are you scared?

Do you need to talk?

Are you having marital problems?

Are you having erection problems?

If so, get more information.

I would.

It was nice of Chelsea to make the announcement half-way through a match in Portugal's EURO 2008 group.

Bosingwa, Carvalho, Ferreira, and Hilario should be happy, I would imagine Alex and Belletti would be happy with another portugese speaking coach

Chelsea will benefit I reckon..... With all the big names and bigger egos running through the club, you probably need someone with a hard line disciplinarian approach to control the dressing room. And big phil certainly has that reputation....

Remains to be seen whether he'll be successful though, as right now, their club is in turmoil with a lot of big names reportedly looking for a way out.

It's a smart choice for them.  Besides the fact that he's a very successful, no nonsense manager, his Portuguese connections will help him retain a few of the lads that Mourinho might have poached (most esp. Carvalho).  Moreover, his Portuguese and Brazilian connections might help him attract some top talent.  Deco looks likely to move to Chelsea now and what odds that Ronaldinho might be courted as well? ???

Rumour has it in Madrid that Scolari and Abramovich will put the market upside down this summer.
