Just wonderin if anyone works out regular? I went the gym a few times in the past but got sick of being the skinny one cos the place I to was full of roid heads but I've started going to JJB over the past few months and I feel great, since I split from my wife and money has been tight I've been really down but working out has boosted my condifence so much and made me mentally stronger, I can't recommend it enough  :buttrock

No, I never go to the gym because  I'm bored there. I preffer mountain bike to lose weight, I'm doing 30Km mini stages and the truth is that it makes you feel better.

In the gym, no matter if I bring a MP3 or whatever, I get bored and I can't be doing 3 h of sport in a row.

'kin ell paul, sorry to hear you & the missus have gone your separate ways, you weren't married long either were you?

in response to the gym thing, i don't go to one (like sabre, i get really bored) but the last 6 months i've been going off-road cycling about 3 times a week doing proper 15 mile sessions and also been doing shedloads of workout stuff at home (sit ups, press ups etc). i've also cut out some of the cr@p food like crisps and so on. hey presto, first time i've had a six-pack since i was about 20 and it feels damn good

Well I've always been skinny and since going the gym I've put on a stone in weight and bulked up a bit which feels great, I dont wanna be a meat head or anything but my basketball has benefited cos I'm a lot strong now when playing, I know what you guys are saying cos I used to get bored but for some reason I'm enjoying it.

Wool: yeah we've only been married two years but we've been together for 7 and lived together for 5 years, we just arent right for each other and making ourselves miserable so it's best to go our seperate ways, it's amicable so it's not too bad

5 times a week witout fail, at least 40 mins cardio, 30 on the weights, I had a bit of a beer belly a while back but things are pretty much in shape now. The confidence thing is spot on, it really does influence alot of things, highly recommended.

I thought about going to a gym........then realised there is no point in messing with perfection  :D

Seriously once you get into a routine, it can be a great form of exercise and self confidence

These days though I stick to hiking/swimming and cycling

Never been into it myself, although I do go for a run most weekdays with Effie the Labrador dog. We're both knocking on a bit now, I'm forty one and she was nine this year. She can still outrun me obviously but I have noticed that when she fecks off into the undergrowth for a Tom it takes her a little bit longer than it used to for her to make up the lost ground and it's definately not that I'm going faster. I do about fifteen to twenty minutes, couple of k's I guess. Does make you feel a bit better all round I must admit.

I used to go but not any more!
I used to train with a mate,he lost interest,i stuck at it for a while but as mentioned above it gets very boring. Its fine if you can get someone to train with though.
As Paul says its good for you in every way your body and your head.
Its just hard to stick at it because you need to train at the very least 2/3 times a week!
