I would suggest that the only players in the above list's who have a respectable goal tally dont actually play as out and out wingers but rather second strikers etc. No doubt some players on that list have stories of injuries etc etc this season but these are some very big names worth big bucks who have not statistically speaking provided better numbers than our current LFC players and who most are playing in poorer quality leagues.

I guess the point is it's very easy to critisize the likes of Pennant/Kuyt or Kewell but it is a less simple task to find improved replacements!

It's not about stats, it's about which players would improve our teams overall performance. Right now we don't have enough quality up front and it's clear that we won't win the title unless we improve in some areas. Kaka has not scored many goals this year but he'd definitely be an improvement over Pennant. And who knows, maybe in our system Kaka would score much more goals then he did at Milan. It's all about finding the right balance in the team.

Dani Alves is a right back and would be a great signing

Sergio Aguero is a striker and would also be a great signing

people talk about ronaldos goals but hes not a winger you only have to watch utd play to realise that....he plays as an attacking 3 and goes the fu.ck where he like

JBM - NINE of those players have scored five or more goals, although listing two Newcastle players is rather pointless. It's not exactly a list of only comparable players/wingers. Pennant rarely even carries a goal THREAT let alone score, it's not getting into a position to score often enough that's the problem and why he scores so few.

Just glancing at the Premiership assists, according to FPL, Gerrard is second alongside Martin Petrov with 10 behind Fabregas on 15. Babel is next highest ranked Liverpool midfielder with 3 assists (Premiership) So how is it Gerrard scores so many goals, gets so many assists and yet the rest contribute so little?

Someone decided to do yet another interview with an (ex-Liverpool) player about the situation at Anfield *yawn* and Henchoz says Liverpool rely too much on Gerrard and Torres. Well that deserves two prizes, one to the pillock that thought it worth asking the same boring question again and found someone they hadn't asked before and one to Henchoz for observing the f in obvious. When are the media going to find something new to go on about regards Liverpool?

ok this all started off when GH left. rafa comes in and try to make a squad of players that suit his style. but if he can actually make a squad filled with mainly GH's players win the ECL, why did he need to buy squad players the seasons after? wouldnt the money be better spent if it was spent on quality instead of quantity. he spents alot on youth but by the time the youth has been blooded his contract would probably be out and he may not be offered a new one considering the fragile future of the club itself. i think rafa spent too much time building the team. anyone can recall who was our right winger back then? smicer. would u have smicer or pennant. i think i would have kept smicer for another season before spending on a very good replacement. smicer carries more goal threat and intelligence.

pennant doest score at all. look at benayoun, i think its a treachery at the way rafa doesnt play him. he already has 2 hat tricks in the bag while im not expecting (crosses fingers) to get another i think he will score or at least create more then kuyt or pennant. pennant had some really good games. but at the rate he is going he shall be another kewell. with less goals.

It's not about stats, it's about which players would improve our teams overall performance. I agree with what your saying to a point but at the end of the day your attacking players need to score goals (Christiano Ronaldo comes to mind), look a Torres no doubt his general play improves the overall team performance but if he wasn't scoring goals who would?

Oh and If we signed Kaka for 40 or 50 million and he didn't score goals you and everyone else would be :censored:
