Steve warnock - Can we have him back?

Hi folks im a visiting Coventry fan

I was just wondering if Stevie Warnock will feature in the first team for you lot this year? He was a class act for us last season (he won our player of the year award) and our only leftbacks are Stan Staunton who is a liability, and Stuart Giddings who is an England U19 international and apparently very good but hasnt played first team yet.

Do you think Rafa has any plans to use Warnock? If not i hope he can come back to us, although you seem to be losing players with Smicer, Murphy and Le Tallec so its looking less and less likely :(

DONT KNOW TO BE HONEST I THINK WE HAVE COVER FOR THE LEFT BACK POSITION WITH RISSE AND CARRAGHER BUT OTHER THEN THAT HE IS THE ONLY PERSON I CAN THINK OFF WHO WOULD FILL THE VOID I KNOW HE PUT PEN TO PAPER ON A 2 YEAR DEAL IN THE SUMMER. :blues:

I've only seem him a few times, but he looks a very good prospect to me. I'd like to think his chance isn't too far away, but to be honest I think realistically his opportunities at LFC may well be very limited for the time being.

Thanks to the Gary Mac link, I'm sure a lot of people here have a soft spot for Coventry. I wouldn't be disappointed if he was loaned to you guys again, as nothing will bring a player on like regular first team football.

And incidentally, great to see evidence this week that not all visiting fans are complete ar*eholes. Good luck for the season ahead mate.

I hope he gets a few chances this because I'm sure he won't let us down.

he got a chance in pre-season so rafa may be holding onto him

Another Cov fan

The thing with Stevie Warnock was that he was fantastic wherever he played, but I prefered him in an attack minded position. He had his best games for Cov at centre mid and left mid. In my opinion his the best player we've had since David Thompson (another Liverpudlian) and he always gave 110%. He was our best player by far last season and deservedly won player of the year. Hope he doesnt fizzle into the wildnerness AKA Richie Partridge.

Hope Kirkland gets his chance this year, and no more injury worries. good luck for next season.

thanks lad, good win for u lot on weekend, 2-0 over Sunderland, hopefully for you that will keep happening.  :)

Lets hope we beat the sheepshaggers tonight, then the town full of poofters on Saturday.  :devil:

Good luck for the season - i hope you do well just to see the whinger Fergie make excuses about why Manure did badly. Look forward to beating you in the Jaguar Arena next season :D
