Michael carrick, what do you think of him?

I heard from the teletext on ITV that Liverpool might be interesting to sign Michael Carrick from West Ham Utd.

What do you think of him, is he type of player that we need or not?

I rate him. He played well alongside Joe Cole and Frank Lampard.

There seems to be a bidding war for him at the moment though and we dont need to get involved in that.

Cant see it happening.

GH sang his praises a couple of years ago, and I thought he was going to move for him, but to be honest he's not the player he was at West Ham alongside Cole and Lampard. I'd like to see a deal happen if the price was only a couple of mill, but by the sound of it West Ham are holding out for £3-£5m for him.

Dont see the point when we probably already have a better player by the name of John Welsh who hopefully will be given a chance this season.

To be honest im not really sure on that 1 barnesrush but id rather see one of our lads given a go then spend 3-5 million on another promising midfielder.

not suitable for us right this term because gerrard and didi or even biscan will up the tempo...

Why dother spending 4-5 mill on him for a reserve when we've got John welsh in the reserves, with all the midfield competition he would never be a regluar, we should be trying to encourage our own young talent.

Carrick is no where near good enough for lfc, he has just spent last season in division one and we saw what impact he had there (none whatsoever). West Ham apparently want between 3 and 5 million for him- no chance!! he isnt even worth 1

Carrick is a poor poor player. Relegated with West Ham. Never done anything, not even in nationwide. He is a poor version of Danny Murphy. No pace, flair, technique. Nothing special. And why on earth should we consider another central midfielder when we are desperately short in other areas? This must be the stupidest transfer link ever. Carrick is nothing. He is not even worth a pair of boots.

Gravesen is a tremendous player. One of the best midfielders in euro 2004 and a fantastic guy. Always 100%. He defends well, he can go past defenders, he can pass, hold the ball, his positioning is world class. He is very smart, always seems to be doing the right things, much like Pires is doing it for Arsenal. I think he will be sold to a top team, but I do not think it will be us. We have planty of cover in midfield and must concentrate on buying defenders and wingers.
