A reasonable observation Owzat but in reality even the most sage amongst us can get carried away with passion be it positive or negative immediately following a game .

Woof, do you remember the Burnley match thread from a couple years ago? Never seen anything like that since then.

I went with if he doesnt win it this year then its time to go. He was given the money and brought in Torres for the amount he paid n doesnt start him in games wheres the logic in that.

4 years is enough time for me. No more excuses if this aint the year then i think thats it and Rafa and liverpool should part company

Nobody was complaining when Arsenal went unbeaten for a season. They drew a third of the games they played in the premier league and I can't see anyone ( Arsenal and utd  on form and us off form aside) beating us. I'll take 12 frustrating games in the league for the prem trophy. We can already comfortably say we are a force in europe and aside from the fa cup being a nice touch and nothing more, what else is there? I think we are solid.

I think we'll struggle next month.

-Everton
-Arsenal
-Blackburn
-Newcastle

Could be out of the title race in October if we don't get a grip.

The footbhall season is weird.

You tend to have to play all the other teams in the same league as you  :D

I would have thought the Reading game would have reinforced peoples views that Torres should have started in the last two league games. Are they wrong?

No they're not.

Pompey away and Brum home - Torres doesn't start, Liverpool draw two blanks

Derby home, Porto away and Reading away - Torres starts, scores FIVE goals and Liverpool net ELEVEN goals with no blanks

Not difficult to conclude why he should start more often. I was checking the records of Rafa and we win a lower percentage of games than in cups and Europe. We need to focus on the league, we've won everything else there is to win bar the Club World Championship. If Rafa doesn't land the Premiership then he's done as much as Houllier, only with a bigger prize trophy but still not the one fans want

The poor performances against Portsmouth & Birmingham wasn't down simply to Torres not playing (although it doesn't help), the problem is that our other strikers don't pose the same goal threat.  If Rafa has to rotate Torres then he has to buy a decent striker who can stick the ball in the net.  Babel should be playing as a striker, Crouch should be sold in Jan and replaced with someone like Jermaine Dafoe.

Rafa himself says that its not about staying fit for these 10-15 games, but he wants freshness 30 games into the season, the only thing is that we still NEED to be in te chase at this point for this to bear any relevance

yeah dawson, so now we have to make up these points later, i get tired of telling people 4 points is 4 points whether we get the now or next april, if we get them now there is no need to be making them up next april.

its simple logic that the boss doesn't seem to grasp

I think we need to take stock here, ok im the first to admit that in the heat of the moment after drawing matches to the likes of Birmingham were all on here ranting and raving but give it a few days and you can see it from a different prospective.

At the end of the day Birmingham was our only really poor result from the opening fixtures, not many teams can go to pompey and get a result so im not classing that as a bad result.

However im not desguising how i feel about rotation if we are to win the league we need our BEST 11 and that means FERNANADO TORRES playing as many as possible.

So im with the Get a grip were still unbeaten vote just ahead of raffa needs to prioritise the league..???
