No need for Deffenders, its all about keeping possession and taking your goal scoring chances. Alonso can score from his own half on a full size pitch so he should have no problem on a five-a-side pitch

For the same reasons as St Mick.

Reina, a given.

Agger, elegant defender, good user of the ball, intelligent passer, good vision.

Gerrard, a given.

Benayoun, very intelligent, nifty feet, would nail the sly balls through to Torres, a jinky player perfectly suited for five a side.

Torres, great all round and nippy beyond.

Hyypia - awesome defender and could splay the ball about with that sweet left foot
Gerrard - der!!
Babel - pace, skill, goal scorer

Reina - well!

Mascherano - disposes and can spread play/defend like a beast!

Alonso - excellent with the ball in small pressured areas.

Benayoun - nifty skillul player/tidy in posession.

Torres - very fast/goal scorer/good in posession.

Reina - Excellent reactions and shot-stopper
Agger - Defender with the best ball skills at LFC
Masch - Best DM at the club IMO.
Yossi - to provide much needed creativity (but lack of genuine pace may be a problem)... Perhaps Babel instead.
Torres - enuff said.

Wouldn't use Gerrard in a 5 a side squad.... Great player with a great heart and desire but may be found wanting in confined spaces.

Ridiculous statement, Gerrard is brilliant at EVERYTHING.

And Ace has actually played 5 a side against Gerrard about 3 times when he was younger. He was the best player then by a mile as well.

I would have

Reina (obviously)
Agger ( comfortable on the ball decent passer and good shot from any range if not closed down)
Mascherano (just edges it over Xabi, as he is quicker and would not let the opposition play)
Gerrard (can do the lot and would be star player)
Kuyt (will run all day and his shoot on sight policy would mean he scores for fun at 5 a side)

Reina - he's played outfield too, so he might contribute
Arbeloa - he's the future of liverpool i reckon good at defence and attack
Gerrard - no explanation needed
Yossi - would've been garcia, i miss our sangria drinking spaniard
Torres - always exciting to watch, has it all

Reina-- Obviously
Agger-- Good defender, good passer
Stevie-- Obviously
Torres-- In a 5 a side he would make a great midfielder
Crouch-- Is a handfull when he does not have to run (could be swapped with Voronin).

Great team, the only one that does not defend is Crouch and the only one that does not attack is Reina.

I'll give it a shot as well:

Reina - no contest
Agger - the defender with the best distribution and also has quite a sweet left foot himself.
Gerrard - can't believe some people are leaving him out, maybe they're just doing it to "be different"

Voronin - a good worker and a fine finisher as well. Also has a good positional sense and an eye for a pass, so he would play just behind...
Torres - our best striker and able to create and take chances on his own.
