i find it an amazing coincidence that they all not caple of killing a ball dead with one touch even babel who is dutch just happen to not have this ability.

You really do have too much time on your hands if you can honestly say you have watched EVERY one of Rafa's signings in EVERY game and come to to the conclusion that NOT ONE of them can trap a ball !

Are you Andy Gray ?

I know kids who can perform that basic skill, are you trying to say that all the Professional Footballers that Rafa has signed have NEVER trapped a ball, funniest post i have read for a long time  :D

i know what he meens but you remarks are very childish due to fact i have played football at a pretty high level and i for one could control a ball every time and some of the players in prem nowa days seem to lack this simple but very effective skill , ball control is the first movement of a passing team.

Alot of our team members cant control the ball at well at this level .I am not going to name , names due to the fact i feel this is something the coachs should be addressing in training as with all weaknesses can be weathered out with some work done.

Same goes with finishing As i played Striker in my footballing life i know for one finishing is really the easyest skill in football to master well it was for me any ways. It just takes a bit of pratice i think the forwards need to be training this alot more if they are already and cant score then they will never going to score alot of goals.

actually i think Legbarnes and jeff have a point here tbh. BUt let's remember the game is played at a very high speed so its a lot harder to control, more so when you are under pressure.
Having said that, certain players definitely need to improve on first touch

A complete load of rubbish ( now thats childish :;): ) they are proffesional footballers, trapping a ball is a basic must have skill as is control. If they are unable to perform the easiest of football skills they would not make it as a proffesional footballer, there is a huge difference in controlling a simple pass and controlling a ball fired at you at speed, every single footballer in the world will at one time fail to control a ball but to suggest that NONE of the signings made by Rafa have ever controlled a ball is ridiculous, it may be painful to watch the odd time they don't control it but it happens, taking your eye off the ball ,losing concentration are reasons for it, being unable to do it is not.

If you are frustrated by certain players failing to do it once or twice in a game you are watching then fair enough, the point i am making is that to say NOT ONE has EVER done it is over exaggerating at the least.

As for finishing it is not the easiest skill to master at all, in fact it is one of the most difficult, passing a ball long or short, tackling, taking a throw in and controlling the ball are all easier, certain players are blessed with a knack of being able to finish, it is not a skill it is an art, GOD was asked how he does it once and he said he doesn't know it is just something he can do, he also said it is not something he felt he would be able to teach, there is more to scoring than actually finding the net, its about your movement, having the ability to know where and when to run as well as an understanding with your team mates.
