I have read your posts.

"babel is a stupid Jew"   "we hate those Jews"

That, my sad little disillusioned friend, is a racist comment. Just because they are Jews (i didn't know Babel was BTW) doesn't make it alright.  Try substituting the word Jew for black, it's still racist even if they call each other blacks.

I think we will be better and closer to the top 2 but we'll still struggle away from home. The problem is Rafa in my opinion and I can see him walking at the end of the season.

Please someone explain to me why the hell you would put Torres on the right wing, has he ever played there in his life, I mean why spend £20 million on a striker and then stick him on the wing???

Also where the hell are the wingers we were supposed to be getting, and don't tell me that babel is one of them, why didn't we buy Quaresmo or Mancini, I would rather have had both of them than Torres and Babel!!

I really hope I get proven wrong and fully expect to be told to f.uck off by all you PROPER fans!!
:rasp

I kow. Why should this season be any different from the last 17 since we won it? That's an invitable feeling that we all have having being so optimistic so many times, only to see the team fail again and again. Your worries of seeing Torres out the right wing are just the same as my own. If I see that happen more than once this season, then and only then will I get p*ssed if things arn't going to plan. It's only then can we all say that Rafa is the problem. It just annoys me that people have announced doom and gloom when the season hasn't even started yet. IMO I feel that we will be a much harder team to beat this season. I don't think we'll lose or draw as many, it's just the one question of if we'll be able to score enough goals and against the top 4 teams. Do this, and I strongely feel that we will be champions come next May. I have no other reason to think otherwise, and neither should anyone else.

really poor

you dont have the option to moan yet season hasnt started yet give the team A GOD DAMN :censored: CHANCE YOU CLUELESS TART

really i am fed up with so callled LFC fans having go at team in pre season friendlys

After reading this thread, this is one of the few statements that rings true! Really, I know we didn't win, and yes we should have won, but those who are slating the team and speaking of defeatist comments like " Villa will be a draw" and " we've no hope of winning the league" based on this game, should really hang their head's in shame to call themselves Liverpool supporters.

For a start, let me point out the facts. Compare this season's pre season to last years, and you'd be forgiven for thinking we were nothing but a conference side back then. Our bad form pre season last year carried itself into the league. This year we've concided less, scored far more goals, and won the majority of our games and not lost once in full time. That to me speaks volumes of a squad that is still bedding. Another fact about yesterdays game is that Rafa did not field his first choice team. That mixed with an obvious air of pre season caution of not wanting to get injured or carded (that went well) and naturally, we were going to get a very tepid performace. Another thing, we do not have the right to simply walk all over teams no matter who they are. Some people have this preconception of "we are Liverpool, all teams should yield before us" and need to get their heads pulled back out from their a$$holes. It doesn't matter who you play. You still have to beat what is put out in front of you. Feyenoord are not as bad a team as some of you make out. They have some very experienced and talented players in their team, as well as some young and athletic ones. Our players are not super human. It will take them a little bit more time than 90 minutes to find their feet.

One more thing, I'm sure those of you that are slabbering about how poor we supposedly are will no doubt be singing the praises of the players if we do manage to win something big this season, and I suppose that would make you hypocrites. We really do have some very shallow followers in our midst.

"I'm sure those of you that are slabbering" typical of a spide  :rasp

I'm a posh spide, though!

lol only Northern Irish use Slabbering  am i right ? :D

You'd be right, mate. Originally from Limerick, though.

I do not like it either mate , but I guess this fellow guy "Feyenoord Rotterdam doesn't even know himself what he is talking about

For those who are interested this is from Wikipedia:

References to Judaism
The Ajax fans have developed the tradition of using Jewish and Israeli symbols to express their allegiance, despite being almost entirely non Jewish in their composition. Regularly, the supporters wave large Star of David flags and scream Joden! Joden! ("Jews! Jews!") to fire up their team. Die-hard Ajax supporters call themselves "F-Siders" or "Joden" — Dutch for "Jews" — a nickname that reflects both the team's and the city's Jewish heritage. This nickname for Ajax fans dates back to before World War II, when Amsterdam was home to most of the Netherlands' 140,000 Jews and the Ajax stadium itself was located near a Jewish neighborhood. Most Dutch Jews were murdered by the Nazis during the occupation, and today very little remains of Amsterdam's old Jewish quarter. But the tradition at Ajax survived. Ajax currently has no Jewish players, the last player with any Jewish roots being Daniël de Ridder.

More recently, the issue has become a significant social problem in that in an increasingly bizarre and racist way, opposing supporters specifically use antisemitism to express their antipathy towards Ajax. This is expressed in chants such as Hamas, Hamas, Jews into the gas (Hamas, hamas, joden aan het gas) or producing hissing sounds that imitate the flow of gas. This in turn does not withhold the 'Jewish' Ajax supporters from celebrating the Bombing of Rotterdam by Nazi Germany when facing Feyenoord with songs like When spring comes we will throw bombs on Rotterdam! (Als de lente komt dan gooien wij bommen op Rotterdam). Songs like this (using the melody of ´Tulips from Amsterdam´) were sung from the stage, i.e. organised, at the celebration of the winning of the Dutch Cup in 2006.

However, hardcore Ajax fans, although almost entirely gentiles, are proud of their 'outsider' image as "Jews" and feel encouraged to display more Jewish / Israeli symbols at matches, using them as a "badge of battle".

i see, its like tottenham fans calling themselves yids.....even though that was used as a taunt to them i think they started calling themselves it over time...yids = a "name" for jews. but thats where it stops, i dont think they have adopted any jewish symbols or anything...its just the way that other guy came out saying he don't like jews seemed a wrong at first glance....

Thanks for the explanation FRfantastic, explains a lot.  I guess ajax maybe need to tone the jew thing down, so less misunderstandings occur.  It was a pity that drenthe caused everyone to get into a fight, but if i was agger i'd have flattened him much earlier, don't need to have cheaters playing this beautiful game.  He's like an edgar davids lookalike wanna be, but will never get that good. :p

So we should be the Port Of Rotterdam Container Ship champions!

Drenthe is a young player who needs to learn and will learn and mature as he grows older. It’s good to see a player with fire in his stomach; his manager will no doubt mould that fire into a more positive attribute.

I like the lad, despite his foul play, then again he didn’t punch anyone like Steven Gerrard, and so the criticisms should be placed on Gerrard and his conduct.

As for the game, it was a typical, bland pre-season performance; I thought Momo and Alonso looked better than previously, I am hoping they both show similar form to their debut seasons. I’d like to see Gerrard play as an AMC for the rest of the season, he has looked good too this pre-season. Hopefully the regular first team players can maintain their expected performances levels throughout the season.

I was left in a state of confusion by Rafa’s decision to play Torres in midfield and play Kuyt instead of Crouch. What does Crouch have to do to seal his place in the first team?

My overall conclusion of the Port of Rotterdam tournament is that it was a huge let down in terms of a spectacle and I am still do not understand why there was only two games played when there was four teams entered in the competition.

gerrard was simply defending agger so his conduct should not be questioned. it was that idiots lucius and drenthe who started it all.

Gerrard is the captain of Liverpool, so if someone messes with a smaller boy like Aggar, naturally Gerrard is going to chin someone. The ref only gave Stevie a yellow card because the ref knew that Gerrard was going to do him too!

Gerrard’s conduct was no better than the Anderlecht player who head butted Riise a few seasons ago. This player was strongly condemned for his actions, so why shouldn’t Gerrard? It’s unacceptable behaviour, no matter how good a player Gerrard is. If the shoe was on the other foot, this forum and most other Liverpool forums would be full of members condemning such an action.

like i said, gerrard was defending agger. lucius was shoving agger, stevie didnt like it. drenthe was moaning alot, agger didnt like it. so if ur team-mate is being bullied by someone else you expect stevie to stand there and watch? stevie was also p!ssed that he didnt get a free kick. if u comment about stevie being unprofessional then why not blame the dutch players who started it?

Aye, but it wasn't half funny, though.

Drenthe needed a kick-in - I just hope the lads tore him a new behind after the match.
