Just thought it would be a good idea and forget about who were signing and not signing to see what is the worst football ground that you have been to in England and in Europe.

Mine has to be in 1978 when we played Dynamo Dresden in European Cup although we were up 5-1 in the first leg at anfield quite a few liverpool fans went. Mare of a journey but the stadium a joke. First there were more army there than fans we were hurded on to these concrete steps and told not to move, you dont argue when theve all got machine guns. Trying to find something to eat was a joke as not one person understood what we were saying and were to scared to speak to us anyway with the soldiers looking on. and when Stevie Hieghway scored and we started to cheer we got the guns pointed at us again . I know it was eastern Germany at the time and we took a risk going but ive seen better stadiums in the rhymans league.

I went to Goodison once, actually I didnt mean to. I was just walking in Stanley Park and soldiers with machine guns forced us into the ground and told us to sing and act as though we were having a good time because the cameras were there. People were crying and they didnt let us out until midnight.

There are too many in my country to mention. Some are so bad that they can simply be called 'ground' rather than stadia. Some are so bad, that you could swear they were trying to grow spuds...

i remember being at walsall years ago when they packed us in and the wall collapsed in the front with the pressure. i remember there was no outcry about it, it was in the 80's and was a league cup match, i remember souness carrying one injured kid off. they have a new ground now but that place was a dump and a danger

I've had debates with people over hosting World Cups and European Championships. While many like to share them around there aren't that many countries with the size and standard of stadia required. It probably won't matter diddly to the hosts, but the fans of the other teams who qualify will want to see the game and safety is a foremost issue. Then of course the bigger countries can provide bigger stadia so less people will lose out on tickets. It's great that countries like Austria and Switzerland get to (co)host competitions but doesn't it just mean the fans lose out as they end up playing in a stadium that holds 20,000-30,000 with 1/3 not even going to the fans? Play it in England and you get stadia of up to 75,000.

Policing can also be an issue as can racism and also of course being able to accommodate the fans in the cities. If the smaller countries want to host I reckon they should be required to have at least three stadiums with capacity of 40,000+ otherwise it would be like lower division grounds in England hosting the next major tournament here in 2050 or whenever UEFA lets us have our next turn.

Can we include Wales' club pitches here? I'm from Wales myself and always thought Ninian Park was one of the worst grounds I'd been to. Hasn't changed in my eyes from when I first went there back in 1978. Awful looking place, still has shoddy outside tin shack bogs too!

Oxford's old Manor Ground was nasty if you were in the away support. Stank of p1ss, no seats, nets over everything, no cover, no food and generally festering. They did build a new one, but one side of it is just a fence and whenever a ball goes over all the local kids nick them. They have to employ people to get the balls off of the kids!

Kenelworth road is a dump too. That one side that's just french windows and portacabins! Horrible.

Lyon's ground is suprisingly dirty. Toilets reaked out the whole stand and i got food poisoning from a burger.

worst ground for me has to be Heysel, words cant describe how badly run down that place was.

this would of been my choice even if the terrible events of that night had not happened,

when we went to scotland a few years back we went to east stirlings ground... now that ground is terrible. it looked like there were only about 10 seats either side and the pitch.... there werent any turnstiles either.
