Benni faced with good problem?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Baros has just shown the ****** he can do at the European Championships and I badly want to see him at Anfield next season and not wearing a Madrid shirt. We also have 2 other wonderful strikers.

The real deal is now the 2 strikers that will play upfront next season, sadly, 1 of them is gonna go as no one wants to sit on the bench.

Who do you wanna see play upfront next season?

Baros Cisse?

Owen Baros?

Cisse Owen?

I definitly don't wanna see Baros leave.

Cisse - Owen

However Benitez might be able to produce something of one of the players we haven't seen before, and find a way to utilize all 3 in our first team.
He is also a fan of the squad rotation system so we might see this..who knows.

Its easy Rafa selects the two form players whilst the third waits for his opputunity and prepares themselves to take it. If that isnt good enough for any of them then they shouldnt be at Anfield in the first place. Although I have to be honest I would like to see Owen and Cisse start at Spurs and take it from there, however, I have a feeling that if Baros is not guarenteed a starting place he may ask to leave.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

I like many other LFC Fans were no doubt, proud of Baros' achievements at the Euro 2004.

There is no doubt that Baros is a GOOD player, but I really dont feel he is a GREAT player YET if ever. With respect to Baros, he has had a fantastically good 3 weeks at the Euros, but MO is without a doubt proven in an LFC shirt. which comes back to the old saying - form is temporary, class is permanant.

Lets not get carried away with short bursts of form. Hell, we paid top dollar for Diouf based on his performances at the world Cup (not to mention Diao)!!!!!!!!!!

There is no doubt Cisse will start, unfortunately LFC do not have the luxury of Chelski in paying 14 million for a player to sit on the bench. So the question is Owen or Baros.

In my opinion there is only one answer, fortunatley or unfortunately only time will tell - it has to be Owen, if we can ship Baros to Madrid for 15 million, let him go, we have other positions to fill at the club of much more importance with Pongolle as back up to our 2 strikers

rumours today are circulating that chelsea are about to fork out 24m for didier drogba. if that is true then 14m for cisse (or whatever it was) doesn't seem too bad. anybody in france would give the opinion that cisse is the better player of the two.  :)

Isnt Pongolle going on loan to Lens for a season with Diarra??? I think that would be a good move for him as he knows what the prem is about so he can go to an easier league build up his confidence and experience knowing what to expect when he returns. I personally expect another striker to come in as yet and maybe Rafa had already decided to get rid of Baros before Real's interest, I mean he didnt go and talk to the player during the Euro's did he.
At the end of the day Baros has been quick to come out about the supposed Madrid offer, all he had to do was state he wants to play for us and that he would fight to get in the starting 11. That would be end of story, unfortunatly guys there is def something afoot and as much as I would like to see him fight for his place I think we should take the money if a silly offer comes in for him.

But we need three strikers.
What about injuries form etc.

Nice bit of competition and surely you cant expect any striker to assume the position is his regardless of name reputation etc.

I do believe that we have yet to see the best of Diouf but Im not sure if the prem is the league for him, that combined with his attitude makes this season an uphill affair although I hope he proves me wrong. One thing I must say in defence of all the players being carried by Stevie G last season is that they do not turn into bad players. Diouf looked a world beater at the world cup but never got a run in his correct position. Kewell, Heskey never seemed sure what their role in the team was whilst GH's idea to promote Biscan from bouncer and part time Munster's extra still has me scratching my head. For god sake he came here with a host of clubs after him as a midfielder with talent, he was turned into a centre back with no talent. If Rafa is the man we understand him to be we might have to take some double takes when we see some of the players perform next season. Lets face it not all of the underperforming players are going to leave and its more than likely that some of them will again look like players with good reputations.

The best way to include all 3 in the team is maybe convert Baros into a right midfilder and all he has to do is work on the service..dribbling is fine :D
