If it was easy, everyone would have five trophies.

Man U will go into the semis as favourites now, and that suits me absolutely fine. Whoever wins in the Bayern/Milan tie, they'll be a serious, serious game for the Mancs. A far tougher proposition than Roma, for sure.

I genuinely don't think it'll be an all-English final, and I absolutely think we're in for a rematch of 2005. It's all set up quite beautifully. The Mancs are completely set up for a fall after the big high tonight. Imagine it - Ronaldo to get sent off, Rooney to throw the toys out the pram - the works.

Any question as to why it's such a big deal to get into this competition? I'm loving every minute of it.  :buttrock

Roma are a disgrace. Never seen a team so easily dominated.

After what happened in Rome, I was hoping they'd get thrashed.

One word "wow" for both of the results from this mornings games.
More so Man Yoooos result.

Im not so much worried about who we get. We can give it to Chelsea any day and we have played them off the park at times. Our last game against the Mancs we should have won and we can beat them as long as a strong Liverpool team show up. No Probs.
Lately the way the team have been playing has given me great
optimism that we could beat anyone.

Roma turned into a David Koresh-like cult and planned to commit a massive suicide...which they did  against Manure. Stupid...they should've done it earlier..against Lyon. AT least Houllier knew how to knock Manure out.

sorry...i'm on medications....

Man Utd at Old Trafford are awesome.

How they would be in Athens is another thing.

IF we get to the final with that shower both clubs will be banned for atleast 10 years.

Yup Ciggy i reckon a Man U & LFC final has a real chance of being played behind closed doors.

From the BBC article:
"It was classified as a Category C match which is the highest alert there is for a match at Old Trafford. It is on a par with a home match against Liverpool."
BBC radio reporter James Alexander said

Don't think that would achieve much tbh. Most of the problems would occur outside the ground before kick off and in the city centre/bars etc in the days leading up to the final.

However, UEFA may look into it as I think two English clubs playing against each other will bring the distinct possibility of a lot of opposition fans being in both ends and in 'neutral' sections.

I hope this final doesn't eventuate. That said I'd rather be in the final playing that lot, than not at all.

Agreed.

But.. if Ciggy is right and disturbances around the ground and city don't fall under UEFA's jurisdiction, then what can they do?

Have the game at Anfield, problem solved.  :D
