Enjoy Judge.

Ask the locals what they think of Rafa, given that he was manager there a few years ago.

Aren't most of the locals in tenerife now predominately from Leeds ?

First, I want to wish you the best in Tenerife.

Second, if you need something like the most useful insults in Spanish, just PM me. :D

Third, some suggestions. I spent 15 days there in the Career ending voyage -well I actually have gone to 2 career ending voyages, but that's another story-

If you like to be like in England, the south is  for you. Lots of Irish pubs, lots of English pubs, announcement of the EPL games shown in TV, many people talking in english. Also the weather is better than in the north.

But if you want to see some authentic environment of the island you should visit the north. You will find pearls of little village that would be like going back 400 years, as you'll find Spanish colonial architecture there. The founder of Venezuela was a man of Tenerife, and much of the buildings, churches and architecture of old South America can be found there.

If that's not enough reason to visit the north, the meals are better, and cheaper. And if you give a good tip the first day, you'll be treated as a king the second day.

In the north there's also villages like ICod del Rio, in which you can find trees like the Drago Milenario, which is older than Spain, with more than two thousand years of age. Puerto La Cruz is a bigger town, in which you can make some shopping while it still has the charm of the north.

As for fun, there's a carting tracks in the middle of the island (not north , not south) which is quite cheap and fun, I had a great time competing against my mates.

The Teide is boring if you're not a geological scientific. There's a cable car that will carry you to near the volcano's caldera -if it's not a windy day-. For the caldera itself you need special permission of the government. It's not worth the 10 € the Cable car. Once you're up there, you'll only see ICE and moon landscape.

A typical error of the tourists is to ignore the signs of extreme cold that are in the basement and that can be read in english. Since they're in the sunny Spain, they go happily with short trousers and t-shirt and they realise that at 3500 m, it's -8º Celsius. Take care of that.

Be aware of the pickpocketing in the south! enjoy yourself

Tips: The electronical devices such as cameras, MP4 and things like that are cheaper. So is the tobacco if you're a smoker.

I hope that the weather like is good, there have been big storms in the islands Canaries, in the last days....

The climate is in the habit of being good and the people are nice.
Particularly, my favorite zone is La Laguna, where there are natural swimming pools and not this one very constructed with hotels and apartments, is a slightly populated zone and there was preserving his natural and wild condition.

U enjoys the trip. Here in the Basque Country raining every day

A greeting!!!
