DIAO SIGNS FOR STOKE
Paul Eaton 25 January 2007

Salif Diao has brought his Liverpool career to an end and signed for Stoke City until the end of the season.
The Senegal midfielder has spent the last three months on loan at the Britannia Stadium and has now agreed to stay with the Championship outfit for the rest of the campaign.

"We have had a nervous few weeks waiting to get the paperwork sorted out to get Salif here," said boss Tony Pulis.

"But we are very relived to finally get him here on a permanent basis. You only have to look at the amount of points we gathered while he was here to see what an important player he is to this football club."

Diao signed for Liverpool in the summer of 2002 and went on to make 59 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals.

Tfft...on yer bike sunshine and thanks for nothing...(of course its not your fault is it though)  grabbing get. Tara!  :nod

I don't think we gave the lad enough time to settle in, it takes time for players from another country to settle. So long Salif you could of been a legend at liverpool with a bit more time. :(

What a load of :censored:. He didn't play because he was :censored:. Perhaps Igor Biscan would had made a bigger impact if he was played in midfield consistently, but Diao?!

He was a clueless headless chicken with no sense of direction, the definition of liability.

Couldn't even f#cking make an impact at Pompey and Birmingham FFS!

Money grabbing tw@t!

Good riddance

Ok then he was poo, but i'm sure i saw a match he played in and he passed to one of his own players.Oh that was a Senegal match. Definatley wasted talent, on a par with Bruno Cherou defo.

What are we gonna do with ourselves now? All the deadwood have gone. Rafa you spoilsport.

:D  :D  :D  Well done AB ,just when i thought nobody would bite, well in ace.

I don't care, Diao makes my blood boil. He did f#ck all contribution wise to this club and had the balls to get in all of the pictures in Istanbul even though he was on loan for most of the season.

I think we should be more annoyed with Gerrard Houllier than Salif Diao

Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club
