Kuyt or Carra for me, they were immense.

Got to give a mention to Aurelio, had Kalou and SWP in his pocket all game.

Also, Alonso, kept tracking Lampard all game. Never gave him a chance to shoot.

GREAT TEAM PERFORMANCE

Ditto that as well. Gerrard played well and it is great to see him doing the defensive work he has at times neglected to put in over the last couple of years but I can't see past Carra for MOM. He was absolutely immense yesterday and i wonder if theire has been a better performance by a centre-half all season? All-Action display from the MAN, last ditch tackles, won every header, attacked every ball just as you thought Drogba was in with a sniff. Back to his very very best.

I'd go for Aurelio over Kuyt, just cus Dirk will get plenty more man of the match awards for Liverpool.

By the way, who got the nod on Sly ?

the standards on the skysports site

These are the standard rules we will be using.

10: Out of this world - very rare, exceptional performances only.

9: Excellent - Top-class display, probably the matchwinner.

8: Very Good - Outstanding, very influential.

7: Good - Impressive, eye-catching.

6: Average - No major faults, nothing overly impressive.

5: Below Average - Some faults, out-of-touch.

4: Poor - Many faults, easy to criticise.

I think Carragher was the man of the match as he made vital interceptions and provided excellent cover for the rest of the defenders throughout the game.

Gerrard had a very good game as well, covering a lot of the pitch, putting in his fair share of defending and bombing on to bolster the attack.

I my opinion Aurelio had one of his best games for the club so far and he looks like he can only get better as he adapts to the Premiership.
REST IN PEACE PHIL!

carraghar for me closely followed by kuyt

not many have gone for alonso but did you see the way he had just come on after having his lip stiched and dove into a aerial challenge and won it despite not being favourate. i love battlers aspeacially ones with so much ability

Its a great sign when people can make a convincing case for motm for half a dozen different players - the general level of individual performances are unrecognisable from earlier in the season. Very encouraging that so many players are starting to hit form simultaneously, with others to come back. Viva La Rafalucion !
