My :censored:.

Dudek is good enough to play against these teams. He's the keeper that not only won the Champion's League for us, he also got us there in the first place. Too many are making out that Jerzy only ever had one good game.

I'll agree that he made mistakes on Saturday. Too far off his line for the first, trying to anticipate a cross that never came. Should have reached the ball for the second and third, but he didn't. He had a bad day at the office, no more.

We seem to have come to terms with rotation in the outfield players, but as soon as it is attempted with the keeper some people choose to spaz out.

Not tying to dis you here - but in what other CL game that season did he have a good game?

In the final he was spilling the ball all over the place, and at home to Bayer Leverkusen he spewed it for their goal.......

can't think if he had a good game

While I'm not sure that some (even many) on here have come to terms with rotation, mate, the notion of rotating a keeper is another matter altogether.  I generally agree with Rafa's approach to rotation (although I'm never a fan of wholesale changes unless the team needs a complete kick up the bracket) but I don't think resting our number 1 keeper for a major cup clash against potent opposition is a clever move at all.  A rusty, game-shy keeper can not only leak unnecessary goals (as with Arsenal's second) but can also unsettle the defence in front of him.  Had the order of matches been reversed and we played the Carling Cup match first, I would have been alright with Jerzy in net.  As it was, though, I think Rafa got it wrong.

BTW, I agree with everyone who says that the players in front of Dudek were every bit as responsible for the goals on Saturday.  I'm not trying to make Jerzy out as the scapegoat when players like Riise, Carragher and Gerrard need to hold up their hands as well.  Having said that, I'd bet my left bollock that Reina would have kept, at minimum, one of those goals out and, thus, provided a potential platform for the fightback that players like Kuyt certainly looked up for.  It's all "what ifs" now but one of the take away lessons from the game, for me, is that  we perhaps take a good deal of Reina's agility and shot-stopping abilities for granted week in, week out.

The only promise he should now make to Dudek is that he will never play for Liverpool FC again.

Terrible result, Dudek is finished here u can see he has no confidence, he'll never play like he did again, confidence will have been totally eroded. Reina would have saved us 'literally' and hsould have played.

This latter point is the main one Bad Bod, the communication between the goalie and the CB is as important as untold when people talk about football.

I'm a bit gutted for Dudek to be honest, he was a little hero for all the fans, he was loved and he should have gone somewhere else before reaching this point.

Dudek looks like a sparrow in goal hes got legs like crouchs, Reian looks huge compared to him.
Swan song should have been Istanbul.
Tonight was no difference than the embaressing games against the mancs.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
