nedved all the way. did anyone see that shot from 40 yards against holland??  pure class! my tenor on the czechs at 12/1 still looks good!

I think the latvian keeper is very good. hes a stumpy little f.ucker and is only about 5ft10 but he still manages to catch everything. the germans couldnt get a cross in without him catching it.

people have been talking about ibrahimovich for sweden but i dont think hes that great. he may have scored 2 goals but the 1 was a penalty and the other imo was just lucky.

Rosicky looked very good too against holland and i believe he has been linked with a move to liverpool. very pacey and good attacking- good midfield partner for gerrard.

Zambrotta turned the swedish right back inside out last week. i think hes a great winger

I agree on that one Leon, what a  superb game it was last night and destined to go down as a classic  :p

Ujfaluši was very impressive at at 25ih looks the part

:) :)

Have to agree, had never heard of him before but he certainly made an impression on me (and the dutch, :D  :D )
Also despite his age, Nedved continues to show his class, great player.

I know you should not really judge players on one game, but he showed some excellent attributes during that ninty minutes, and stopped Van horse face many times.

As far as dictating and creative play, yes I agreed 100% with you. Lack tackling ability but that is asking too much. Nedved, Aimar (and to a certain extend Deco) is the type of player we lacked last season hence very one dimensional playing style.

i didn't see much of the spanish league last season and i didn't see much of aimar. deco is class but i don't like the way he's always diving and trying to get players booked. having him in midfield with gerrard though would've been class last season

Carvalhio of Portugal is the best defender in it: he was magnificent against Spain and has been top class all season for Porto.

I can't believe that some people here live in the dream world that we could sign Pavel Nedved. Chelsea offered him £5million a year and he knocked them back saying that he wanted to stay at Juventus.

I think Benetiz sr right about star players not making a team. Let Real Madrid, Milan and Chelsea have all the star names and let Benetiz pick a few of the lesser names and build a real team.

Porto, Valencia and Deportivo (as well as Monaco) have proven that it is possible to beat the rich clubs and we should try to emulate them rather than talk about buying the likes of Ballack and Nedved.

I agree...it will be players hungry for success and not wads of money, that will help Benitez build Liverpool into a team to threaten the "Big 3".
