Yes, the Latvian no.9 has been their star player. Too bat his team mates can't match his form at the moment, although the Latvian team really graft for each other. Good team spirit.

lets buy smicer and hamaan.

I've been well impressed with Pavel Nedved. He can surge forward, hold the ball up excellent and shoot.and we'd get him for 15m i reckon. you never know he might fancy LFC cause of Baros.

Pavel Nedved is class.  Always has been always will be.  He was european footballer of the year in 2003 and Juve won't be keen on letting him go.  They'd bleed us the best part of 25 million for him.

I've been mighty impressed by one of the French players
he scored from a free kick and a penalty against England.  I think he plays for some small spanish club.  He might be hard to get though because his side made the champions league qualifiers this year and he has a fairly high buy-out clause.  Around £260million I think
His name begins with Z but i can't quite remember it.

No, seriously a good emerging player is Seitardis (Greece) he has had a couple of excellent seasons with Panathaniakos (sp?) and has impressed me with his pace and ball skills so far.

I've got Czech Republic at 14 /1 to win the tournament.  The spirit they have shown in their two games has been fantastic.  In both games they fell a goal down but recovered to win with an attacking brand of football.  I hope Baros and Smicer share the recipe with us when they get back.

I have £10 each way, (1/4 odds 1,2,3,4) on Milan Baros @ 50-1 for top goalscorer, and he is now 6-1 2nd FAV behind Ruud Van Nostrilhair.

Thats a wager.

I watched the Czech game last night, and I was impressed by the Centre Half, Tomáš Ujfaluši. He was quick, good in the air and he gave Van Horse face a five yard start and breezed past him twice.

UEFA website reports:

A talented defender who is occasionally pushed forward to anchor the midfield, Tomáš Ujfaluši has grown in stature as his career has progressed, maturing into a key figure for club and country.

National side
Part of the Czech Republic team beaten 2-1 by Italy in the final of the 2000 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, Ujfaluši graduated to the senior side during qualifying for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He appeared sporadically throughout, including the first leg of the play-off defeat by Belgium as the Czechs missed out on a place in Korea/Japan.

UEFA EURO 2004™qualifying
Cemented a place in Karel Brückner's starting lineup, playing every minute of the first seven qualifiers. He was suspended for the final 3-2 victory against Austria, by which time the Czechs had already won Group 3.

Club
Ujfaluši enjoyed early success with his first club, SK Sigma Olomouc. The Czech side finished third in 1997/98 to qualify for the UEFA Cup, a competition in which the young defender made his European debut against Kilmarnock FC of Scotland. Although that campaign ended with defeat by Olympique de Marseille, Ujfaluši helped Sigma qualify again via a fourth-placed 1. liga finish in 1998/99.

2000: Left the Andruv stadium for Germany, where he soon became a favourite at Hamburger SV. The club finished eleventh in his first full season at the AOL Arena before the defence gelled the following term, conceding 21 fewer goals to pave the way for a fourth-placed finish and UEFA Cup qualification.

2003/04: Ujfaluši tore ligaments in his knee in December 2003, ruling him out until early March, but still managed 26 outings as Hamburg finished eighth in the Bundesliga.

Did you know?
Ujfaluši scored his first two international goals in the same game, a friendly against Yugoslavia in September 2002.

Czech are the only team which is playing well in this tournament. If england does not win, then i hope Czech does. I also agree that we should try to buy Pavel Nedved even if there is a remote chance of getting him. He is 30 now, but he just oozes class...... 2nd only to zidane in that department. Most of the italian clubs are in debt, so it might not be that remote getting him.

i Think Nedved is the best player Ive seen so far ..That Defender too Tomáš Ujfaluši and Rosicky. The Van der Vaart guy doesnt impess me at all,but he must have something i guess.   One player Id love to see at anfield is Robbie Keane,I rememebr someone calling for him on the forum a while back...He oozes confidence ,is strong and quick ,if Owen does go hed be a good replacement ...anyone agree?

Marek Heinz, the czech forward showed every moves of a good player.
Petr Cech, too bad his moving to Chelsea. Excellent keeper for his age. Plays like a vintage great keeper with the vigour in all young players.

there are some good players comeing through. Vincent i think we are in for already and I like that Latvian as well i would not touch Davids with a barge poll as he is old and would cost a fourtune as will Nedved.

Could you imagin The commentry team if we got Heinz playing against Manu's Heinse now that would be a tounge twister for Motty
