Rufus Wainwright and his family and Arcade Fire are the best Canadian musicians at the moment; it's good to see some talent come out of that country. There hasn't been many unless you actually count Brett Hart and Owen Hart as talented individuals.

If your'e gonna slag a musician off, stick to music. Doherty was in a fecking good band (The Libertines) and he looks like hes pulling himself back together now with Babyshambles ; decent band, new tunes a cracker.

I'd say about 90% of music artists are on/have been on drugs. I watched a programme a few years ago and some presenter, I think it was Iain Robinson made a statement that said most/if not all artists best music came about whilst they were on drugs. I think it's narrow minded to dislike someone for taking and using 'illegal drugs'. You'll be surprised how many people do acid or weed in this country.
