The guy is making his view felt and he did state that he knew he would get slated for it. While I don't agree with Lion heart's view. I get really pi ssed off when you call him a clueless Australian. I am an aussie and i casually follow the reds and have always liked them since I was a kid. You would be surprised how many Australians actually follow Liverpool or have a soft spot for them .But don't sound like an arrogant clown who thinks that the only people that can follow Liverpool have to live in England and know every single fact about the club. What are you trying to prove??

People can support who they want and how they want. Everyone has their gripes from time to time about the team they support because they want them to win everything.

By the same token, surely someone who doesn't knwo the ins and outs cannot have an informed opinion?

And by that logic, an uninformed opinion is not worth reading.

If your going to make a post like Lionhearts though, I think you should at least have some arguments to back up your statement with.

Lando, Peewee Conn'0var etc occasionally make controversial threads (gerrard etc) but they BACKUP their comments with a reasoned argument!

I may not always agree with them but at least it shows they have thought about it and have reasons for their views.

To be honest I think Lionheart has overreacted, no one badly abused him (at first) and most replies where reasonably civil. I am just disapointed that he didn't answer any of the points that other posters raised before taking off.

Yes, it's comical when you look at our chances for a match and the deciding factor becomes if the game is being played at home or away. It's equally as 'comical' (maybe ironical would be a better word) when opposing teams see us a 'beatable' if we are playing away from our home. If that's not comical then it's tragic...

And it sure as hell isn't the players. There are many squads with a far 'lesser' squad who are winning games that we stumble and fall over. It's part of the manager's responsibility to get these players into the right frame of mind so they are willing to give 100% or more. I remember some of the LFC player ready to give their lives for the manager (tongue in cheek...)

I don't give a toss about LAST season, except to say it's great to win these things but that is now history. We can bask in the glory or we can go on to create more glory. A team is only as good as it's last match. I'm more interested in THIS year. Last year's results give me a warm glow when I'm chatting with my Man. Utd & Chelsea mates and I can brag about how great Liverpool are. Then I walk out into the sunlight of TODAY and it isn't too warm.

What have we won this year?? What are we likely to win this year?? Yes, we might still be in the loop but it sure as hell doesn't seem too likely.

Don't worry, I'm still firmly planted in my seat on the Liverpool bandwaggon. Just as I've been for the past 40 years...and THAT sure as hell, won't change.

I can still have my grizzle, whinge, whine & cry, if I want to.

Yesterdays performance epitimised what i was trying to say - Bells had a cracker of a game, and was more direct and you could say calmer in his decision making, andit paid off handsomely. If only Bells and a handful of others had started the season like they played yesterday, then we would probably be top right now.

So in my view Lionheart, this seasons poor start has been down to the players.

While some may think this thread is entertaing, I think it's shi.te. Nothing interesting to read or learned, just childish internet drama. There's no need for it, in this case. I mean, to carry on like some of you have been. And that's coming from someone who thinks Lionheart's posts and opinions in this thread are rubbish as well..

I did find it funny, though, how overly sensitive he was to everyone's response. Truth be told.

Wow, i posted ont he first page and come back a few days later to this....

Lionheart said that he wanted reasonable discussion on the topic, but his post was structured as a rant. If he wanted discussion he would have weighed up the pros and cons and then let people discuss it. Making a thread for your own personal rant is egotistical, and it kills the chance of their being any decent posts by the majority of members jump on any chance to bully someone.

You have 3 choices when making a controvertial thread:
1) Incite discussion without giving your opinion, then when you are happy with the level of discussion decide to put in your input
2) Put forth a poorly thought out post with holes in your arguement and hope that somebody else has similar opinions and backs it up with a real post
3) Post a well thought out arguement addressing the likely counter-arguements and write in such a way that there is disclaimer that you are aware of the fact that others may differ in opinion.

Generally use the first option if you can.
Dont use the second one like Lionheart did.
If you cant write the third option then dont try.

My agenda is to stop the bullsh1t going around, especially at a crucial time of our season. The Rafa should go threads have been done to death, and especially coming from a known poster, it was poor form by Lionheart to go and stir it all up again. All I did was keep pressing him about who he thought was LFC's best alternative to Rafa, and for someone just calling for the head of the boss, without any real argument as to who should take over is cowardly. Even more so now that he's run away from the forums and put the blame solely on me for his reasoning. Everyone was flaming him, and it was justified.

I'm a LFC supporter, and I think Rafa is the best person for the job for the next 10 years. He's building something big here, and any real follower can see that.

I feel that Lando's right, Rafa needs time just any other manager we've had. He's done well considering what he inherited whan he got here, and OK the new signings haven't shined as we all hoped they would but give the guy a break! Look at what we've won in the last 2 seasons, we shouldn't be calling for the Gaffer's head, most certainly not!

I agree with you lando but if people are going jump all over someone for posting that's stupid. Lionheart knew that he was posting something that would cause a stir and it was his oppinion. Maybe he was bored. I don't know.

The other thing is people are reading this thread and people are posting albeit agianst his argument.
