well another victory for amir khan, this time against a really decent opponent. feckin brilliant

he has got so much talent it's ridiculous, and he's a top lad as well. it's also nice to see an asian lad who loves his union jack and sees himself as british not pakistani. building bridges and all that  :)

The lad has uperb talent. Each time I watch him he gets better and better. Even at the olympics I remember his dad wearing like a union jack flag. He does seem a nice guy, he went to Pakistan didn't he to help out after that earthquake?

He easily knocked out Andy Johnson.

Poor guy.

He plays for England earlier, then later in the day, he gets knocked out.

He's a really good boxer but let him have a few more warm ups before he meets some crazy mexican.

He beat the Cuban who'd been unbeaten for years (the one who beat him for gold in Athens) There are probably only a few top level fighters at this weight, most of them Mexicans or Puerto Ricans.... Trouble is the Yanks aren't overly interested in flyweight contests so it's gonna take some good promotion to get him the big payday bouts....

If he wants to be world class then he needs to go to America where there is a greater depth of talent and spar with some of the best in the world. He should also take his time and get a good 4 years experience before going for a world title.

Hamed was humbled when he fought a great fighter so hopefully Khan will learn from that. take your time and keep working.

The fact he is Asian inthe current climate is brilliant in my eyes.Everyday you hear Asians around here getting slagged off or stared at as though they are suicide bombers.
This lad by having  a special talent could just be a key figure in years to come in this country,as Ali was in America against all the blacks/malcomn x movements in the 60's.

It p1sses me off when everybody makes out how wonderful Ali was.

He believed in segragation, gave out to people in mixed relationships, believed gays needed to be cured, believed the white man was created by an evil scientist (thats what the nation of islam preached) but yet was trained by one, preached moral values but slept with hundreds of  women i.e. hypocrite. Great athlete but little respect for the man.

A better reference would have been to the greatest heavyweight of all time - Joe Louis (champ for 12 years) who showed white america that a successful black man was not a threat and did a great deal to help race relations in America in a much less tolerant time.

Watchin Hamed get released this morning just made me hope that Amir Khan steers clear of all the get rich quick merchants who'll just wanna make money out of him. He seems to have his feet on the ground and is not as cocky as Hamed was when he was on the way up....
