I agree with you - Walters wan't all that bad IMO.

I accept he was probably a poor man's John Barnes, but I wouldn't put him in an all time worst LFC XI.

once seen never fallen for !!! he wasn't great by any shout

i'm fortunate in that i first became a season ticket holder at liverpool in souness' first full season as manager so i've got plenty of sh#te players to pick from.

i see a lot of people have gone for david james in goal and i'd probably agree given the early promise the guy showed. he made his debut in the first ever televised live sky game away at forest and had a blinder. for the remainder of that season he kept grobelaar out of the side. unfortunately, as seems to happen with all our keepers since, he ended up being know for a bunch of horrendous mistakes.

in defence, piechnic has to be in there. he was truly woeful. so was kvarme. tanner would be in but i'm letting him off considering he scored in a merseyside derby once.

in midfield i'll go for diomede (he won a world cup you know?), jimmy carter (for being named after a US president), the next zidane and antonio nunez (should have stuck with being a lawyer).

upfront will have to be diouf due to the price we paid for him and sean dundee (who burst on the scene claiming he was faster than michael owen). he was, but he just couldn't play football.

apologies to anyone i haven't mentioned. :laugh:

He actually had a decent enough debut I reckon! Was at the game vs Sunderland at Anfield, he was the kingpin of our mid!, an he banged an overhead kick in just saved by their keeper. Did he only play that one game, I'm sure he did but someone else might know for sure?
