There have been a few rumours about the altercation between these two, I think it went along these lines:

Zidane " Marco vous êtes des déchets et échoué chez Everton, c'est très pauvre "

Roughly translated " Marco you are rubbish and failed at Everton, that is very poor "

Materazzi " Non mi preoccupo Zizou, il fratello di Carraghers sono stato sulla vostra madre "

Roughly translated " I dont care Zizou, Carraghers brother has been up your mother "

Obviously this was not something that Zinadene (Or John Terry) wated people to know about, and he lost it.

he called Zidane's parents terrorists, this is only a rumour but it would explain the "headbutt"

Seriously though, a French website my mate frequesnts (he is a loser and a french language teacher printed this earlier on today, claiming that it was from lip readers:

Zidane holding his shirt says to Materazzi:
ZZ: "Ordinanza de tirare il costume!!" (stop pulling on my shirt!!)
MM": "Taciti, enculo, hai solamente cio che merite..." (shut up f**ker, you only get what you deserve)
ZZ: "si e cio..." (yes, sure...)
While Zidane starts to move away, Materazzi goes:
MM: "meritate tutti ciò, voi gli enculato di musulmani, sporchi terroristici" (all of you deserve that, f**cking Muslims, terrorist b*st*rds).

apparently mater said to the legend a horrible death to you and your family and in my opinion he got off lightly with a headbutt id have gone off of the pitch and brought a big knife to the tiny little heart this :censored:

has. Footballer, rugby player, astronaut, president, whatever like zidane you say this to me expect a more than what zidane gave, but whats the betting nothing happens to materazzi?

Are you joking or a terrorist, its got to be one of the two.

I hope nothing happens to Materazzi, if it does then EVERY sunday league footballer will be banned immideatley and lots of top flight pros will be suspended.

Every tacky taboid seems to have their own lip readers who all saw different things being said. Where's the one who saw Finnan?

i don't think it was anything so sinister as insulting zidane's mum or whatever. i reckon materazzi just said "zizou old chap, would you mind awfully butting my chest, i've got a stubborn grebbie i just can't shift" at which point zidane happily obliged. what happened to the grebbie is unclear
