Benitez is adamant that Jose Mourinho's men will not have it so easy in next season's Premiership race - with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all ready to challenge them.
Chelsea look set to retain their title after going nine points clear at the top of the table on Saturday, but Benitez believes the gap is closing between Chelsea and the rest of the league.
"Yes, Roman Abramovich has money and we all know that there will be more and more money," said Benitez
"But Chelsea can only buy so many players. They have many players now, yet the other teams are getting closer.
"Manchester United have proved this season that if you are very positive in the way you play, then you can get very close to Chelsea.
"Chelsea and United are much closer than they were last year and, next season, I think that Liverpool and Arsenal will also make it much more interesting.
"Then there are other teams like Tottenham and Blackburn who are developing.
"It is good to see that no one is scared of Chelsea now. Teams have learned to play against them and we are all working on ways to beat them.
"United are closest at the moment. The difference is now down to the results of one or two matches.
"It is good enough for Chelsea now, but it is not a gap that cannot be closed.
"Clubs and players no longer fear Chelsea. They know that they can be beaten now.
"We are seeing that - and it is only the start. Every year, it will become more and more difficult for them."
This was taken from Sky Sports.
At this moment in time Chelsea are the team to beat, they are the team who we have to measure ourselves up against.
Already compairing ourselves from last season we have closed the gap on them and improved immensly.
I'm not going to make any bold predictions for next year, but for next week when we meet Jose and his mob in the cup I can see a semi-final win for the Pool. And hopefully just hopefully this will be the start of there demise.
Above anything else this is only a good thing for football,'the catching up of Chelsea'. It wasnt even a year ago people were saying English football is ruined because of the finacial clout the Chavs have. That murmur isnt quite so distinct now, and teams such as us have learnt to adapt and approach our game plan to combat this.
For all there arrogance and money Chelsea are not just the team 'we love to hate'. No, they are a target, a target well within our sites and it wont be too long before there blown out the way.
