The biggest giant of them all - Is gently waking up from his slumber

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Tue Apr 25, 2006 6:34 pm

Hiya all,

What a fantastic result on saturday for the Mighty Reds hey, what a superb win I knew before kick off we would win, from the odds of only beating them once in the most important game of last season I knew we would do theres only so many times the reds will take a hiding from no marks.

I was absolutly delighted not just because it was Chelsea BTW who are they anyway? No one, 2 League Titles in two seasons and fuck all else to brag about.

Our club is the most important one, the most Successful one, and we have the best fans in the world.

Which brings me to being out in town on sunday, there was this Liverpool fan wasnt a scouser like, with his manc mate they had both been to the semi final on saturday.
And they had come into Liverpool to celebrate getting to the final.

The manc was sound though even bought me a few bevvies
You know what he said to me, That, that was the best atmosphere that OT had ever had ( from our supporters  :D )
An get on this, he said, our CL final was the best he had ever witnessed even theirs didnt come close to it.
And their treble didnt compare nothing to it either.

From the fantastic scenes in Istanbul to the home coming parade on the streets of Liverpool, I could'nt help get the feeling he was a little envious and not just because of the tropheys and titles weve won but because he wished Man U was Liverpool for everything our great club stands for.

Even though they have themselves a great manager, and fantastic stadium and have also had their own fair share of success and tropheys even 2 euro cups.

But they will never have our songs
They will never have our banners
And they dont have anything we want, but everyone wants a taste of what we have, every club in Englands fans probably wish they where lucky enough to be us.

From our past managers that first laid down the foundations, Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, we have them to thank for making Liverpool F.C. what it is today the best club on the planet.

And much appreciation to Rick Parry and David Moores for having the same ambitions as us fans and wanting more Tropheys more Titles more world wide recognition because this club deserves it, so they done their homework, and brought us Rafa.

We are going places with Senior Benitez.
We know it, Our players are realising it, and outsiders are starting to stand up and take notice of the Mighty Reds and they better had because.

THE BIGGEST GIANT OF THEM ALL HAS AWOKEN

Was talking about a similar thing on Saturday night - basically, how lucky we are.

The bluenoses must be sick of watching us win trophy after trophy.

True post!!

Especially the bit about the fans!
Any group of fans or individual...rival or not with an ounce of respect would recognize that the passion our fans have for our team is nothing short of special!!
The rest that dont(or pretend they dont) are simply bitter with envy!

Of course they all envy us in Istanbul, unfortunately i have yet to meet a Manc that can say anything but 'You fluked it,you'se were lucky'!!
We all need a bit of luck at times to achieve our goals..football is no different!

As for the way the team is moving under Benitez..i could'nt be happier!Progress in the league and and FA cup final...im delighted!
I've heard a few say our name is on the cup,its only West Ham,be assured the players are not thinking like that.If they were they'd loose!

Good Post..We are the best team on the planet and are special!! :)

brought a tear to me eye that did

:bowdown

I have been a Liverpool fan for 31 years and never felt prouder than I do at the moment

Mourinho won the title two years in a row and spent over 300 million doing it, if Rafa had half of that budget he would have won everything.

Here's to the next 31 years, my son is now nearly two and hopefully he'll feel the same as I do in a few years time already got him LFC pyjamas, bibs, kit, etc,etc

another ciggy-post, straight from the top drawer as ever :bowdown  one of my best mates over here went to anfield for the last game of the season last year, he's a big man u fan (goes to most homes at OT) and ended up on the kop. he said quite unequivocally that the atmosphere absolutely BLEW AWAY anything he has ever seen at old trafford. the songs, the noise, the banter were the best he's ever heard

and that's coming from a MAN U fan

my brother-in-law (leicester fan) mentioned something a few weeks back which never really registered at the time, he just said it must be f*ckin great being a liverpool supporter at the moment. thinking back now to what he said, by god he was bloody right :buttrock

Kudos, Ciggy...put's everything into perspective nicely as we near the end of a fine season!

I must say, it is refreshing not having to wade through the rubbish spouted by the doom and gloom merchants of late (although some of the hand-wringing before the Chelsea game was a bit off-putting).

We're on the march and the future's so bright, I gotta...
