League and champions league are the two big ones, everything else just gets in the way.
Losing to Burnley was good for us .
without the f.a cup they`d be no football league (which was originally set up by the chairman of aston villa to fill the void that occured between f.a cup competitions).
without the formation of the english f.a there`s a good chance there`d be no barcelona or real madrid or a.c milan either.
even the world cup can be traced back to the f.a cup - it`s the foundation stone of the greatest sport on earth.
i read a story about the first cup final which was contested between a club called the wanderers and a team from the royal engineer`s (i think) and during the match one of the wanderers players was badly injured and had to go off (this was a century before subs were introduced).
a player from the royal engineers (i forget his name but he was a captain by rank) then walked off the pitch in order to even up the sides in a corinthian gesture of sportsmanship and its said that at that exact moment in the first ever final the magic of the cup was born.
