EXCLUSIVE: CHAMPS PREPARE FOR LIFE AFTER JOSE
Mourinho set to leave in summer; Blues target Hiddink as his successor
Paul Smith Chief Football Writer

THE Richter Scale for managerial shocks will hit 10 when Jose Mourinho's reign at Chelsea ends.

Not since the day when Kenny Dalglish quit champions Liverpool 15 years ago has there been a split to rival the seismic fall-out from the impending Stamford Bridge divorce.

The Special One, recruited in the summer of 2004 to make Chelsea champions, is about to don his overcoat for the last time and head to Italy to land a £5million-a-year job with Inter Milan.

For some time now the football grapevine has been alive with rumours about clashes occurring behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.

Sunday Mirror Sport was made aware two months ago that some of Mourinho's closest friends and colleagues believed that instead of being tied to a new long-term contract The Special One would leave after one more season at the Bridge.

Now, in the wake of Chelsea's Champions League defeat against Barcelona that estimate had changed.

A senior member of the Chelsea backroom staff said: "Jose will be out of here this summer."

That view has been confirmed to the Sunday Mirror by a member of Peter Kenyon's administrative staff as well as a leading Premier League figure.

Winning back-to-back Premiership titles may not be enough to satisfy Roman Abramovich's vision for world domination.

And with Mourinho's future in the balance, Chelsea have identified PSV Eindhoven boss - and England candidate - Guus Hiddink as the man to replace him.

PSV president Rob Westerhof understands why Chelsea have now set their sights on his coach.

Westerhof said last night: "If Chelsea are looking for a man to replace Mourinho there are only two coaches suitable. They're Guus Hiddink and Fabio Capello.

"We're pressing Guus to make a decision on his future. We expect his decision next week.

"I have a good relationship with Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon. At the moment I've not heard from him and I'd expect to do so.

"But given their situation they wouldn't want to cause unrest when they're chasing the Premiership and FA Cup."

Westerhof is also well aware that by moving to Chelsea Hiddink would again be teaming up with old colleague Frank Arnesen, the Blues' sporting director.

Westerhof added: "You have the situation of Frank being at Chelsea already which might be very convenient for them.

Multilingual Hiddink is renowned as a charming, media firnedly manager and his record singles him out as the ideal man to build on the success Mourinho has enjoyed.

There is no single reason why Mourinho's reign at Chelsea is about to end.

The cocktail includes many ingredients but the Barcelona experience certainly affected owner Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich announced when he took over in July 2003 that he wanted to mirror Real Madrid and make Chelsea the best, most exciting team in the world. He had the available cash to do it, too.

But Mourinho's route to glory meant he deliberately shied away from superstars. He didn't want Galacticos, he wanted players to fit his team pattern.

Chelsea always knew people would criticise the largesse of their Russian owner but they now believe Mourinho's egotistical outbursts threaten to undermine any hope of winning widespread public approval.

Inter are also owned by a multimillionaire, Massimo Moratti. He has lavished money on a succession of coaches, won nothing and now feels Mourinho is the man to change that."

=====================================

If this is true, it must really urk Maureen to know he could have been second choice to our beloved Rafa!!

What will happen, probably not much - money talks and Chelsea have plenty to talk with.

Dont think its true Hawky!!
I read it myself and was delighted...id love to see the back of ze special one!!Would be interesting to see how Chelsea would do under another manager!
But it was put to him today at the Fulham match and he basically said it was balls and it was an insult to him and the other manager!Hes contracted till 2100 but i guess contracts mean little or nothing these days!!

Will be interesting to see what happens though!!

He comes across as the type of person that doesn't not respect contracts, and if Inter come knocking, and the money's right, he'd be asking what he's having for dinner in Milan tonight!

Do you know what I havent much time for Joe Cole nor SWP since he went there, but I have to say after todays episode, Jose made a total mockery out of the pair of them.
You can say all you want about a managers decisions but that one today was bang out of order IMO.
And if I was either of them two players and I thought my dignity meant more to me, then I would request a transfer request A.S.A.P.
disgracefull.
See Rafa reguarding Morientes enough said really we may moan and groan but TBH none of us would like Rafa having such a ruthless side to him as Jose has, be honest? I know I would'nt as much as I moan that Fernando is left on in some games I would hate it if Rafa treated our players like Jose has done today.

Roman looked pretty p.issed off and maureen looked hagged today lets hope the wheels are falling off.
But as I said before I dont have much time for money grabbers but I did feel for Joe Cole and SWP this evening he totally took the p.iss out of them two players tonight, and for that fact alone thats why they did not win tonight.
Drogba's still a kunt though and so are the other tw@ts that still surround a ref.

Yeah i be interested too and TBH I wouldnt be that surprised to see Maureen go
The trouble when you have that sort of unlimited resources you have pretty much unlimited expectation
Roman not getting his hands on old big ears plus the fact that Chelsea are losing the heart and minds of a lot of football fans with their antics means it wouldnt be that big of a shock if he did go..................................though maybe its just wishful thinking on my behalf  :D

I think he will leave to prove himself.

I think because winning the prem so easily every season and the vast amount of millions he has to spend he feels he is not getting the respect he deserves as a manager, I think he feels he will prove himself worthy when he doesnt have millions to spend and take a decent team and turn them into champions (like inter)

It could also be the small matter of isolating himself from everyone in English football due to his lack of sportsmanship and respect for opposition managers, staff & players. Plus the fact he speaks out of turn and the way that he & Chelsea act is so unprofessional that it becomes a disgrace.

I really don't think this is good news at all. Jose is fucking up big-time, losing the respect of football lovers and to some extent chelsea fans are finding it harder to justify/ignore his behaviour. Couple this some of the chelsea's players antics on the pitch and we have the perfect recipe for finishing higher than them next year.

I want see us batter them by 5 goals next season at the bridge and hear Jose claim none of them crossed the line.

Hiddink is a much better human, and as good if not better coach. I certainly don't want to see him at Chelsea, with all those roubles behind him. That would not be good news for us.

So i am hoping that Jose stays and remains the whinging moaner that he is.
