not good enough. if i was robbie fowler i'd be wandering what the hell is going on for this guy to be starting ahead of me.

Exactly!!
He put his own desire to score in front of the team..not good enough!
It can be forgiven now as we won 3-1 but it would be a different story if we hasd lost the game 1-0!He drives me mad :veryangry

Im absolutely delighted with the lads today Scott!

I just feel Cisses performance was dire selfish and not that of an LFC player on a day when the whole team played well as a unit!
Sorry he just angers me!!

Agree with that. He had me tearing me hair out as well but let that frustration be overidden by the warm glow in the pit of the tummy that comes with a Liverpool win :D

You can't give a lad a six when he scored one goal and played a good part in one of the best goals we've scored under Benitez. I don't like the lad, i'm he's not and never will be good enough, at least today he produced a decent performance and actually tried.

well Stu.....i still stand by my comments and furthermore everyone else including my old mate Barry......thinks the same.

I was being generous with a 6 ......... :D

We done the job we went there to do. It’s a good win for us.
cisse is a :censored: he should have passed to kewell but wanted to do it alone again the man is just zero minded.
I would not have even let him take the penalty but at lest he put it away.
And o man did I long for 200 Newcastle fans to jump the barrier and beat him to a pulp. What was on his t shirt look mum the mugs are still paying my wages.
But overall a very good result for us.

ps could someone start a cfc thread call it cfc and there 11 no 10 tits.

how could anyone ever defend cissie ever again.

he was a 4 in my eye's and that is because he scored a pen. He adds nothing to the team, his pace is wasted on a player with no awareness and no visible football class,  harry had a quiter game but was at the centre of alot of good things that we did today,

didi was top draw again and looks to benifit from not playing week in week out, agger looks to be a great prospect as he always seems to have time and awareness of his team mates, warnock had one of his better games and looked good at getting foward,

all in all the breaks have started going in, we are playing no better than before but the chances we were missing are now finding the back of the net,

lets keep the pressure on the mancs for a good run in

Fair enough assesment Stu but I have to say I disagree about a couple of things.

Reina -6 - Had little to do, but to me looked quite indecisive when coming off his line.  It's his job to shout to the defender if he's coming out.  Twice in the 1st half the communication wasn't there, once with Sami, then Carra in quick succession.

Carragher - 6 - At fault for the goal and gave away free kicks in some dangerous positions.  His form has dipped over the past few weeks but he's been a rock for so long and everyone's allowed a dip in form.

Hyypia - 7 - Dominated Shearer in the air, positionally sound as always.

Agger - 8 - The best of our 3 centre backs today.  Stood up to the physical threat of Shearer and his distribution was excellent.  Always finds time on the ball, this kid's going to be a player.

Kromkamp - 8 - His best display yet.  He was described as a wing back when we signed him, now we know why.  Good defensively and going forward.  How did we manage to swap Josemi for him?

Warnock - 7 - Good performance.  Commited as always.  Looked a yard quicker today now he has had a few games to get his sharpness back.

Gerrard - 8 - Our best player today imo.  He owed us a big performance after his recent displays.  He dominated Parker and pushed him right back, his goal was top drawer.

Hamann - 7 - Solid.  You know what you're getting every time. He always has a good game against Newcastle.

Kewell - 7 - I thought he did well, his movement created a lot of space for our other attackers today and he should have been played in by Cisse and then Garcia.

Cisse - 7 - You saw the good and the bad today.  His pace caused problems and his cross for the 2nd goal was good, but his temperament has to be questioned again, as has his greediness.

Crouch - 8 - Involved in all the goals, you can't ask for much more.  Was great as the focal point of our attack.  His link up for Gerrard's goal was excellent.

Subs...

Garcia - 6 - Found space well but decision making was poor.  Below his best again

Alonso - Unlucky not to score, had some nice touches and one good run down the left.

Fowler - Anyone else think he looked a bit miffed at only getting on in the last minute?

Happy with the result and the performance.  Looks like we've got a couple of good players on our hands with Agger and Kromkamp and our players showed they are versatile enough to play in different formations when needed.  A much needed win given the other results this weekend.

Spot on there John. I sometimes think Rafa is a little over obsessed with changes to formation/tactics but it's clear a lot of work goes into this at Melwood and you can see the players are now able to adapt to different ways of playing.

Yeah I thought the new formation worked a treat today and the players looked really comfortable playing it. Rafa is always talking about controlling games and this formation lets us do just that. We really gave Newcastle a going over during the first half today and we looked dangerous every time we went forward.

I think we have got the players to play this formation (think we haven't got enough natural width to play with wingers in a 4-4-2 at the minute) and I feel that this could really work with Kewell or Garcia in a free role.
