This just in, Sunderland have sacked manager Mick McCarthy after 3 years at the Stadium of  Light.  It is a shock I must say

Why is it a shock?. They haven't set the PL alight this season, never looked like staying up.

To be honest its a fecking joke. They come up with Wigan and West Ham and spend feck all on players.West Ham and Wigan spend money on the right players and are doing well. You would think after they went down two years ago they would have some idea what was needed.
Its a joke to get rid of him in MARCH when they already have no chance of staying up.He would have brought them back up again but whoever takes the job looks like they will feck all to spend.

Let's face it, they need someone who can get them promotion from the Championship, and Mick's done it once already!  It's beyond me why they'd sack him now, at Christmas maybe, but not now.

Its a ludacris decision. Its not McCarthys fault that Sunderland are rock bottom. They hardly have a team suited for the Premiership. What good is a new manager going to do? The great escape? Think not!

The only bloke they could get is Souness, he unemployed and in the area. And he can't get them relegated seeing as they're in the sh!t already. :D

I feel a bit sorry for Mick.A fight to escape relegation was always the best he could hope for in the premiership.Ok Sunderland are poor but what do they expect for a three or four million transfer budget? As for the timing...well they did it before.Howard Wilkinson got sacked in a very similar situation a couple of years back.

What a joke of a decision that was.  He got them promoted on a shoe-string budget and the board expect him to keep them in the premiership with basically the same squad?  The board need the sack, not McCarthy.

And what's with the timing?  At this stage in the season why sack the manager?  They are down no matter what anyway.  Why not keep the manager, back him properly financially next year and see what he can do?

McCarthy won't be out of a job for long I don't think

they sacked him as no one would take over with that budget. now he elaves and they will get a verbal agreement with mcleish to take over next season with a teeny war chest

Sunderland are :censored:.

Their chairman thinks he can get into the Prem, spend virtually nothing and survive?

McCarthy was wasting his time there. He should join a club with some ambition.
