It's been reported all over the place today that Rick Parry scotched talk that there had been a move made to bring Robbie back on loan.

From what I'm hearing, this was completely true.

If you ask Rick Parry tomorrow morning however, he may have to give you a different answer.

Pongolle to City on loan til the end of the season, Fowler coming the other way for the same period.
Pongolle will be back with us come summer, and Fowler will be available on a free if he impresses.

Cisse to Lyon on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy in summer, AN Other in at LFC before the window closes.

All this from a journo mate I used to work with. Nothing in stone yet, as LFC want to sign Cisse's replacement before anything goes ahead. Not a clue how close we are to doing that, or of any names being mooted.

I've also been given the name of a right winger we're about to put an offer in on, but I can't give more on that until the weekend as the guy has a vested interest in the info staying under wraps. If something comes of the offer, it'll please some and disappoint others, is all I'll say. Am guessing our offer will have to improve anyway.

would like to confirm everything that Ivor has said as i heard more or less the same thing myself yesterday from a good source (not saying who),it depends on a lot of stuff falling into place tho ,and by no means is a done deal, but here's hopeing.

On of my fellow LFC fans at my Tennis club said he'd heard that Sami had said there was a possibility of Robbie coming back, but that's about as stonewall as a lego brick!

Liverpool Echo

Parry dismisses move for Fowler

Jan 26 2006

By David Prentice, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL have dismissed radio reports this morning claiming that Robbie Fowler is returning to Anfield on-loan.

Chief executive Rick Parry said today: "There has been no dialogue whatsoever between Manchester City and ourselves.

"The story is not true."

Liverpool's goal-shy performance at Old Trafford last Sunday has increased speculation that the Reds would benefit from the presence of a poacher like Fowler in their squad, despite the fact he left the club five years ago.

I've heard the Wright-Phillips rumour, its :censored:. He'd be ok i supose, but it isn't going to happen.

As for Sinama I've been told he's going to go back to france on loan to Lyon, not Cisse. Cisse will most likely stay untill summer.

The Fowler rumour's died a death and it won't happen i don't think. Hopefully my info's wrong so far my source has been right about 50% of calls on signings.

Parry was quoted yesterday - like I say, it's since he issued the denial that things have apparently started happening.

And the right mid isn't SWP, incidentally.

The only RM that Ivor hasn't now ruled out, that would be controversial, is David Beckham.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Would we really want a 32 year old slow RM. Beckham is not good enough for LFC.

put away your ok magazine.

He is not a very good player - good crosser and free kicks but nothing else to his game.

I know England are dying for a hero but Rooney is the real deal Beckham is just a celebrity creation. Don't believe the hype!

I'm going to shut up now, but the last thing I'll say is that the name I was given wasn't Beckham.
