I can see us signing Wallcott rather than Chelsea, because with us he will have much more of a chance of breaking into the team. The fact that Wright-Phillips, a 20 million pound signing, is sitting on the bench in most games says it all.
Thats why Carson joined us and not Chelsea as well

The Championship is a tough competitive division and he is shining out as a top player there, with some coaching, growth and experience he could be a real star. I think the real issues are about his contract. He is only 16 and at 17 can walk away with the fee agreed by tribunal and £2.5 million is likely for an unproven player of his age, The Saints want more than this of course so will do everythig to get him to a sign a professional contract and he might just show some loyalty and sign there. Depending how he gets on then of course he could go anywhere in a couple of years. It is all up to him.
Chelsea have apparently stated that they'll top ANY offer tabled for Walcott but in my opinion he'd be a fool to go there, yeah the money might be good but at Liverpool or Arsenal he'd be valued and play.
